EFFECT: increased efficiency and comfort of computer control, reduced surface occupied by device due to unification of device with keyboard case, increased device reliability due to the fact that scanned surface is located inside the device.

The invention relates to the field of computer functional units.

Known opto-mechanical and optical input device in the computer graphics information and management operating system /mouse/ /M. Kutuzov, A. Preobrazhensky Choice of computer. - M.: Peter, 2004, p.29-34/. The principle of them is based on registration of the movements of the remote sensor on the working surface and rendering it move on the screen through the cursor. Opto-mechanical mouse contains a ball rolling along the working surface, and two kinematically associated orthogonal roller transmitting the rotation of the ball on optical sensors that generate electrical impulses and enter them into the computer. As a result, the mouse movement is reflected on the monitor screen after the cursor. Optical mice have no moving parts. The principle of their action is that they send pulses of light on the working of the underlying surface and record the movement reflected through her signals.

The analogue can also be considered a device called a trackball. From the above mice it differs in that it is stationary, and the motion sensor is a ball, twisting fingers. The principle of the trackballs similar to mice and they also, as is YSI run as opto-mechanical, and optical.

A common disadvantage of the above devices is the dependence of the reliability of their work from a clean working surface and contamination, clogging of the ball with the trackball.
