FIELD: biochemistry, proteins, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a computer method for identifying peptides that can be used as targets for medicinal agents. Method involves creating peptides library from protein sequences of different organisms and the following comparison is carried out for identification of retained conservative peptide motifs that are identified by the direct comparison of sequences for different microorganisms and host genomes being without any suggestions. Method is useful for identifying possible targets for medicinal agents and can be used for screening antibacterial medicinal agents of broad spectrum. Also, method can be used for carrying out the specific diagnosis of infections and, in addition, for conferring functions to proteins with unknown functions using indices of invariant peptide motifs.
