Methods and devices to control amplification during initial capture in communication system. RU patent 2454016.

FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems. The methods and apparatus for controlling amplification during the initial capture in a communication system and method for use in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The technology disclosed comprises measurement of power of the signal received by the transceiver repeatedly over a given period of time, and the signal includes a certain number of symbols. Strengthening of the transceiver can be reduced only if the current measured power is greater than previously measured power within a specified period of time, as long as the maximum power level is not measured. Through the reduction of re-amplification, adapting the maximum capacity, equal to the power level of the pilot symbol of capture, overcorrection and distortion through the transceiver is excluded during the initial timing and frequency locking.

EFFECT: improved performance of the receiving part of the transceiver.

Measurement of cell-specific reference symbols in presence of mbms single frequency network transmissions Measurement of cell-specific reference symbols in presence of mbms single frequency network transmissions / 2453051
Invention relates to communication systems. A network unit of an own cell operates in a radio communication system utilising a radio interface that includes a radio frame made up of a number of sub-frames. The own cell serves one or more user equipments. Operation includes obtaining information about a scheduling of MBSFN data transmissions in one or more neighbouring cells. The information thereby obtained is used to generate an information signal which, for a given sub-frame, enables the one or more user equipments to determine whether neighbouring cell measurements can be performed using a unicast group of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDM) symbols.
Open loop precoder cycling in mimo communications Open loop precoder cycling in mimo communications / 2452129
Plural bit streams are modulated into multiple data symbol vectors. Each vector has a transmission rank with one vector for each MIMO channel. Transmission rank is the number of elements in a data symbol vector corresponding to the number of data streams being transmitted in parallel over each MIMO channel. The multiple data symbol vectors are preceded into multiple precoded symbol vectors using a plurality of precoder cycling sets, one set for each transmission rank including multiple different precoders. The precoders in each precoder cycling set are well-separated with respect to a plurality of distance measures. The precoding includes precoding each data symbol vector of a transmission rank with a precoder belonging to the precoder cycling set of that transmission rank. The precoded symbol vectors are then transmitted over the MIMO channels.
Efficient system identification schemes for communication systems Efficient system identification schemes for communication systems / 2452120
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate efficiently indicating parameter(s) associated with a base station utilising synchronisation signals in a wireless communication environment. For instance, relative locations of a PSC and a SSC in a radio frame can be a function of a parameter. Further, a PSC sequence utilised to generate PSCs can be selected based upon a parameter. Moreover, inclusion or exclusion of PSCs from a radio frame can be a function of a parameter. Additionally or alternatively, pseudo random sequence mappings (e.g., to cell IDs, tone locations) can be a function of a parameter. Example parameters can be whether the base station is part of a TDD or a FDD system, whether the radio frame employs FS1 or FS2, whether the base station is associated with a macro or a femto cell, or whether the base station is associated with a unicast or a multicast system.

Synchronisation of ofdm symbols using preamble with frequency-shifted prefix and suffix for dvr-t2 receiver Synchronisation of ofdm symbols using preamble with frequency-shifted prefix and suffix for dvr-t2 receiver / 2450472
Signal of a preamble of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) (C, A, B) with cyclic extensions, having frequency shift. Together these cyclic expansions form a frequency-shifted version of the OFDM preamble signal. The value of frequency correction and time shift are assessed and efficiently corrected using concatenation in the time area, after which the OFDM preamble signal is coherently summed in the frequency area. Assessment and correction of phased errors in the frequency area are carried out after quick Fourier transformation of received signals. The actual preamble is detected, and additional parameters are extracted from this OFDM preamble, which are required for further reception of transmitted OFDM symbols.
Multiband communication system using shared baseband processor Multiband communication system using shared baseband processor / 2450471
Transmission method selects sampling clock frequency, e.g., a first clock frequency (1×F1) or a second clock frequency (k×F1), where k>1. Digital information is processed using the selected sampling clock frequency and a baseband signal is generated. Regardless of the selected sampling clock frequency, the baseband signal can have the same number of subcarrier frequencies. The baseband signal is converted to a radio-frequency signal having data transmission rate which depends on the selected sampling clock frequency and is transmitted. In more detail, the first baseband signal, having a first data transmission rate, is generated in response to the first clock frequency selection. The second baseband signal, having a second data transmission rate which is higher than the first, can be generated in response to the second clock frequency selection.

Method of linearising amplitude characteristics of radio signal amplification path Method of linearising amplitude characteristics of radio signal amplification path / 2425439
Method of linearising amplitude characteristics of the amplification path of a radio signal formed by amplification characteristics of two parallel amplifiers, characterised by that the nominal value of the transmission coefficient of the amplification path is formed as a transfer function of two amplifiers which are connected in parallel on inputs and outputs and separately controlled on two sections of the amplitude characteristic. At the initial low-signal section of the amplitude characteristic, the common modulo transmission coefficient is formed as a sum of transmission coefficients of the non-controlled main amplifier and an auxiliary controlled parallel amplifier, and on the remaining section up to the maximum input level by adjusting the transmission coefficient of the main amplifier for the transmission coefficient of the auxiliary parallel amplifier equal to zero during the off mode on the current of output transistors thereof, and compensation for phase deviations is performed on the an input signal which is common for both amplifiers. The method is based on that, the transfer function of the two parallel-connected directed links (amplifiers) is equal to the sum of transfer functions of the directed links. Directivity is absence of cross-talk between the links and absence of effect of the overall output signal on characteristics of the parallel-connected links. In the disclosed method, directivity is provided by limiting the active region of the operation mode of the auxiliary amplifier on gain and on operation mode, on the direct current of the final stage of the auxiliary amplifier.
Amplification controller for receiver in communication system with multiple carriers Amplification controller for receiver in communication system with multiple carriers / 2389131
Receiver in communication system OFDM includes power detector and amplification controller. Power detector determines total power of received signal of OFDM, for instance by calculation of ADC data samples power and power averaging. Amplification controller controls amplification of receiver by discrete steps of amplification and in one direction, for instance from mode of lowest amplification to mode of highest amplification on the basis of determined total power of received signal. Amplification controller puts receiver in mode of lowest amplification. Then amplification controller detects condition of low total power of received signal, for instance by comparison of determined total power of received signal to specified threshold value that actually represents absence of signal. Amplification controller changes receiver to mode of higher amplification, if condition of low total power of received signal was detected, otherwise it preserves current mode of amplification.

Method and device for increasing interference resistance of a receiver Method and device for increasing interference resistance of a receiver / 2305363
In accordance to the invention, in the method and in the device, power level of received signal is determined. If the power level equals or exceeds a predetermined threshold value, then amplifier 703 with low inherent noises is bridged 730. In alternative realizations, detector is used for high level of radio frequency power 105 for controlling amplification coefficient of input cascade 110 as a function of interference power. Continuous control over amplification coefficient makes it possible to suppress interference and to synchronize sensitivity of the receiver at lower signal levels, compared to the case of block with radio frequency amplification coefficient commutation block 730. Method of the invention allows synchronization of amplification coefficient at input with a predetermined value 1601. during operation of the receiver, change of control coefficient power of intermediate frequency signal 1605 is measured. If aforementioned change is less than the predetermined value 1610, then level of interference and signal is below the minimal noise level and, therefore, amplification coefficient is increased 1615. If the change of power of intermediate frequency signal exceeds a predetermined value, then presence of distortions is obvious and amplification coefficient is decreased to decrease the level of inter-modulation components 1620. Aforementioned process is used to produce best trade-off between interferences and noise factor during operation of the receiver.
