FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed otter trawl incorporates one or two slats arranged with their front edges in compliance with the position of the front edge of one primary deflector that features a shape wherein the said deflector outer side surface has larger curvature than the inner side surface. The said deflector profile thickest part is arranged ahead of the center. The outer side surface is bulged while the inner side one is concave. The proposed otter trawl is made from synthetic material containing a polymer material mixed with elastomer. The said otter trawl synthetic part takes up whatever impacts without damages.

EFFECT: light-weight, high-strength design of otter trawl along with ease of manufacture and use.

Otter board has lower wing, upper wing and at least one intermediate wing, said wings being curved in direction of advancement of otter board in water so as to define channels therebetween, parallel longitudinal fins and keel. Wings are made of different length and are stepped one above another with different gaps therebetween so as to define V-shaped profile relative to central longitudinal fin. Wings have aerodynamic profile with maximum profile of upper wing making 18% of wing length, and wing length to wing width ratio constituting from about 1:1.3 to about 1:1.4. Angle of V-shaped profile is 155 deg. Fins have unequal arms. Wing front edges are reinforced with stringers. At least one additional guiding and stabilizing fin is provided along the entire length of otter board wings and four additional guiding and stabilizing fins are provided along the entire length of otter board.
Otter trawl board Otter trawl board / 2267271
Otter trawl board has profiled carrier plate, slats, upper and lower washers, ballast adapted for imparting stable position to otter board during trawling and positioned in lower part of otter board, stringers for imparting desirable rigidity to otter board, central stringers for securing of otter trawl board arch, combs for attachment of trawl cables, and wire. Otter trawl board arch is arranged symmetrically to axis of plate and slats. Wire attachment device is positioned on horizontal axis of symmetry of plate and slats. Trawl upper cable is fixed to comb, in the vicinity of upper washer of otter board, and lower cable is fixed to comb in the vicinity of lower washer. Carrier plate and slats are curved along chain line described by formula where , To is horizontal thread tension component; q is weight of 1 running meter of thread, and curvature of slats is identical to that of carrier plate. Combs, central stringers and trawl board arch are equipped with openings for adjustment of otter trawl board in accordance with angle of attack, heeling and trim.

Trawl toggle Trawl toggle / 2432739
Proposed device comprises set of bent plates, lengthwise stringers oriented in parallel to make toggle rigid, upper and lower washers confining said plates, ballast, trawl gallow, and trawl cable ropes fastening rakes. Trawl gallow is arranged on toggle horizontal axis and secured in central stringers. Trawl gallow, central stringers and rakes allow adjusting trawl toggle to angle of attack, heel and pitch. Plates are oriented and fastened so that their front edges, in cross section, are located along arc. Every plate is bent in direction of trawl toggle travel. Plate rear edge is arranged with clearance to next plate.
