FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method implies use of hydroacoustic echo-ranging device to determine amount of fish in front of trawl. Hydroacoustic echo-ranging device may be installed at one and/or both trawl boards. Echo ranging of target stocks in the space between trawl boards and trawl wings is carried out either from one board towards the other board or from both boards alternately towards one another. Sound impulses are emitted simultaneously or alternately. Then number of caught fish is divided by total number of fish in front of trawl to determine catch efficiency. EFFECT: improved accuracy and reliability of determination of fish amount in the trawl operating range. 2 dwg

Method of detecting and identifying bottom fish by means of resonant absorption of underwater acoustic signals received by fish swimming-bladder / 2273864 Method can be used in fishing industry for detecting and identifying (species, quantitative and dimensional) of gathering of marketing bottom fish with swimming-bladder. Method consists in radiation of high-frequency pumping wave at the direction of bottom which waves have frequencies ω1 and ω2 to be close to resonant frequency ω0 of air bubbles being present at subsurface layer of water at the direction of bottom. In non-uniform water medium high-frequency pumping waves exhibit non-linear interaction at frequencies of ω1 and ω2 to form low-frequency wideband difference frequency Ω=ω1-ω2. Difference frequency Ω=ω1-ω2 is close to frequency Ωos of resonant absorption of sound absorbed by bottom fish's swimming-bladder. Reflective characteristics of fish are measured by means of hydro-acoustic measurement equipment. The end of the trawl net is designed to be open. At the end of the trawl net a fish pump is installed with its suction side turned towards the trawl net and its pressure side connected to a fish duct hose. In the course of trawl fishing the catch is directed towards the trawl net and gradually pumped into the fish duct hose for delivery onboard a fishing trawler. With the help of a supply hose the fish pump is connected to an electric power supply device providing for the pump actuation. The device includes a trawl net for the catch at the end whereof fish duct hose is attached for delivery onboard a fishing trawler.
