SUBSTANCE: proposed neon light simulating unit has rod-shaped element made of material possessing light-dissipating properties with lateral light-detecting surface and bent lateral light-emitting surface which is stretched along light source disposed along and close to light-detecting surface; it also has case accommodating light source and wiring panel designed to connect light source to distant light. Elliptic pattern of light spot formed by light source on light-emitting surface has short axis passing throughout entire width of light-emitting surface, and long axis is disposed along rod. Case has two side walls, each being provided with internal light-reflecting surface and external light-absorbing surface.
