The selection includes determining the number of potential second multimedia content items and, if said number is greater than one, sorting said items according to a first relevance coefficient and sorting according to a second relevance coefficient if items with the highest first relevance coefficient are more than one. Furthermore, selection includes determining potential second multimedia content items having the highest second relevance coefficient. Invention relates to television systems and specifically to shared television sessions. The technical result is resolving television system resource conflict and limitation problems by providing shared television sessions to which a user can connect for shared viewing. To this end, an additional display device sends a request to connect to a shared television session which is displayed on one or more display devices between which a shared television session is established and which share a tuner of a tuner device in order to receive television content. If said request is accepted by at least one display device, the additional display device connects to the shared television session. An input tuner configuration signal can be received if initiated in a display device, and the input tuner configuration signal can be transmitted to the tuner device to change television content.
