SUBSTANCE: methods and system for controlling injection of water into the disconnected cylinders based on duration of engine operation in mode with one or several disconnected cylinders and the temperature of catalytic converter of exhaust gases are proposed. The invention enables to reduce saturation of catalytic converter with oxygen due to injection of water into disconnected cylinders, which expands and turns into steam, prevents air from getting into the disconnected cylinders and entering the catalytic converter.

EFFECT: reduction of necessity for regeneration of catalytic converter of exhaust gases after disconnection of cylinders, prevention of decrease of catalytic converter efficiency, improvement of fuel efficiency and reduction of toxicity.

EGR system diagnostics in diesel consists in determination of gas temperature and pressure in intake and discharge pipes to construct the model for determination of temperature decrease y=ΔT in EGR coolant by engine control unit. The internal combustion engine has a throttle for control of volume of suction air and performs starting by means of cranking. The starter switch detects initiation of cranking, and the sensor of cranked shaft rotation angle determines rpm of the engine. The controller actuates a throttle in the closed position along with initiation of cranking. The controller can get both negative pressure at the inlet for fuel evaporation stimulation, and the suction air volume necessary to maintain idle rpm, by means of counting of number of steps or rpm of the internal combustion engine from initiation of cranking and throttle opening from the closed position when the counted number reaches the pre-set value.

EFFECT: ensuring of throttle regulation by creation of negative pressure at the inlet at simultaneous feeding of the respective volume of suction air.
