SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vehicles with an engine stop-start system for automatic start and stop of the internal combustion engine. Invention is intended to reduce wear of component parts of the starting system and discloses the method for controlling the operation of an engine stop-start system, in which, if the time taken to start an engine 10 controlled by the engine stop-start system exceeds a predefined limit, operation of the engine stop-start system is inhibited so that normal stop-start operation does not occur during at least the current drive cycle.
EFFECT: this prevents excessive use of a starting system for engine 10 which can result in premature failure of the starting system and also reduces negative reactions from a user of motor vehicle 5 due to the sluggish starting.

The inverter generator (10) comprises a winding (22a, 22b) wound around the generator unit (14) driven by a motor (12), a converter (24, 26) coupled to the winding and designed to convert alternating current at the winding output into direct current, an inverter (36) coupled to the converter and designed to convert direct current at the converter output and to transmit it as an output signal, and a controller (42) designed to control operation of the converter and inverter. An accumulator battery (20) is connected to the above motor. The winding comprises the first winding (22a) and the second winding (22b). The controller supplies the accumulator battery output to one of the windings - the first one or the second one - in order to run up the generator unit for the motor starting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an activating device with an automatic circuit breaker unit for a dual battery system that includes a system of power batteries, which is connected to an electrical system containing a starter motor and a circuit of an ignition switch for a transport vehicle, and a system of starter batteries, which can be connected parallel to the system of power batteries by means of the automatic circuit breaker unit that can be switched between an open state and a closed state; when in the latter state, the system of starter batteries is able to supply energy to the electrical system. The activating device includes a control unit, a signal block having a possibility of generating voltage signal yi and supplying voltage signal y to the ignition switch circuit, a monitoring unit having a possibility of monitoring voltage signal y from connection of the ignition switch and a possibility of generation of a monitoring signal based on a controlled voltage signal y, and a processor unit having a possibility of comparing the monitoring signal to a pre-set detection criterion and a possibility of generation of a control signal based on this comparison, which is transmitted to the control unit. The invention also includes an activation method of an automatic circuit breaker unit in a dual battery system.

It includes a storage battery, a solenoid starter switch, a starter, a capacitive energy storage, the second output of which is connected to a minus output of the storage battery, a slave key that is made in the form of a thyristor; besides, the storage battery through the thyristor and the capacitive energy storage with its first output through a diode are connected to the starter for the starting period through contacts of the solenoid switch; a control electrode of the thyristor is connected to a common output of introduced switch 8 that connects, when in the first position, in-series connected threshold element (voltage-regulator diode) 9 and resistor 10 to a common point of storage battery 1 and anode of thyristor 7, and when in the second position, to a common point of resistor 10 and threshold element (voltage-regulator diode), and when in the third position, to a thyristor cathode.

SUBSTANCE: total length of starter harness used solely to starter connection and storage battery positive output terminal 4a is increased by adding additional excess segment to up the harness resistance beyond the limits of length required for laying said harness in engine compartment. Excess segment 21 is composed by a rod at forming of section with two flexures by bending the section of one continuous harness 7. Or, it is made by additional bending of the section with two flexures two times and secured via harness holder to storage battery support flange bracket. With application of resistor with heat resistance constrictions, it is potable to suppress voltage drop at restarting which problematic in carrier with idling engine outage function. Required resistance is ensured by excessive increase in length to decrease harness temperature increase.

(a) Magnitude defining the temperature (Tavt) of exhaust gases circulating at engine exhaust pipe, at turbocompressor turbine inlet. (b) Said magnitude is compared with preset threshold magnitude (Tavt_seuil). (c) In case the former magnitude is larger than the latter, first time delay (Tempo-in) is activated to repeat steps (a) and (b). If, during said time delay, the former is smaller than the latter, said time delay is stopped to initiate step (d). (d) In case the former magnitude is larger than the latter, second time delay (Tempo-out) is activated to repeat steps (a) and (b). If, during said time delay, the former is smaller than the latter, said time delay is stopped. Process of the second time delay is initiated again to initiate step (c). (e) In case first delay elapses and the former magnitude exceeds said threshold magnitude, engine automatic outage is prohibited. (f) In case second time delay elapses and the former magnitude is smaller than threshold magnitude, engine automatic outage is permitted to initiate, again, the first time delay.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to start systems for automobiles, railroad transport, and electric transport. A system contains an accumulator battery and an energy storage unit, a system monitoring and control module (SMCM), a voltage conversion module (VCM), a power switching module (PSM) for switching of direct-current power circuits. The system contains a charger intended for additional recharge of the accumulator battery and the energy storage unit made as an electrochemical capacitor (ECC). At that VCM is coupled by power circuits to power supply buses of the onboard network, PSM and SMCM; PSM is coupled by power circuits to the charger, MM and ECC and the charger in its turn is coupled to power circuits of MA and ECC. The system monitoring and control module can supply control signals to VCM, PSM and the charger and to receive signals from voltage sensors of the accumulator battery, the ECC voltage sensor and the charger current sensor as well as to control voltage/current of the power supply bus of the onboard network and to ensure exchange of information with the vehicle onboard data bus.

Proposed system comprises starter to start the engine, storage battery to supply said starter and starter control device. Said starter comprises second gear engaged with first gear engaged with engine crankshaft, actuator to displace second gear for engagement with first fear and motor to run said second gear. Control device can drive said actuator and motor separately. Control device operates in the mode of rotation whereat said motor is actuated before said actuator. Note that in the case of said mode of rotation said control unit restricts the engine automatic outage proceeding from the lower voltage of storage battery decreased voltage after actuation of motor and decreased voltage of storage battery after actuation of actuator. Invention discloses the engine control.
EFFECT: limited engine outage at insufficient voltage of storage battery.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to energy accumulation systems using generator and storage and it is designed for use on vehicles with internal combustion engines. Proposed system contains electric motor, armature shaft of electric motor being designed for rotation of internal combustion engine shaft, first storage battery, first electromagnetic solenoid relay of electric motor, electric generator and battery switch. System is furnished also second storage battery, second and third electromagnetic relays, first and second magnetic contactors and selector switch with three contacts. First contacts of electric motor, switch, electric generator, windings of each contactor and each relay are connected with frame. Second contacts of winding of first magnetic contactor and first relay are connected with first fixed contact of selector switch. Second contacts of winding of second magnetic contactor, second and third electromagnetic relays are connected with second fixed contact of selector switch. First contacts of second and third magnetic relays and first magnetic contactor are connected with third movable contact of selector switch and with first pole of first battery. Second contacts of first and second magnetic contactors are connected with first pole of second battery. Second contact of electric motor is connected with first contact of first relay whose second contact is connected with second pole of second battery. Second contact of second relay is connected with second contact of first relay. Second contact of switch and first contact of second contactor are connected with second pole of first battery. Second contact of third relay is connected with second contact of generator.
EFFECT: improved reliability of starting of internal combustion engine in process of long operation, reduced cost of system.

SUBSTANCE: according to invention starting system of internal combustion engine contains storage battery, starter-solenoid switch, starter and capacitive energy accumulator. Storage battery and capacitive energy accumulator are connected to starter for time of starting through normally open contacts of solenoid switch. Moreover, engine starting system is provided additionally with solar battery, dc generator and three diodes. Plus terminals of storage battery, solar battery and dc generator are connected with anodes of diodes, and cathodes of diodes are intercoupled and connected with first terminal of capacitive energy accumulator. Second terminals of storage battery, solar battery, dc generator and capacitive energy accumulator are interconnected to form minus bus of supply source. Capacitive energy accumulator is connected to starter through normally open contacts of solenoid switch whose winding is connected to storage battery for period of starting.

SUBSTANCE: invention provides 100% use of energy of one or more capacitor gangs, reduction of magnetic flux at starting and increase of torque. For this purpose in locomotive diesel engine starting system implementing proposed combination method of electric starting contains starter-generator, generator-exciter mechanically coupled with shaft of armature of starter-generator and parallel-connected power supply sources in form of standard storage battery and capacitor gangs, and also device to control starting and sequence of connection of capacitor gangs. Aline with standard method of diesel engine starting from storage battery, provision is made for separate excitation of generator-exciter from storage battery and connection of its armature circuit to one of capacitor gangs. Moreover, in 2-3 sec after initial moment of starting, connection of separate winding of starter-generator to second capacitor gangs is provided. In process of diesel engine starting, capacitor gangs are disconnected from storage battery. In process of diesel engine starting disconnection of potentials of capacitor gangs and their connection to armature circuit of generator exciter and to separate winding of starter-generator and, after starting of diesel engine, connection of potentials of capacitor gangs to storage battery is provided by interlocking starting contactors.
EFFECT: provision of faultless starting of locomotive diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comes to connecting of storage battery to control circuits to supply them with energy, to pulse capacitor gang to charge capacitors, and to starting power system at interlocking of the latter from discharge of energy of pulse capacitor gang through starting power system when preparing engine for starting, to discharging of energy of pulse capacitor gang to starting power system at its unlocking in process of engine starting and, after starting of engine, to charging of storage battery from generator of control circuits and interlocking of starting power system. SUBSTANCE: proposed vehicle engine starting device contains gang of pulse capacitors and series-connected control circuit, setting circuit of starting, power circuit of starting in which first output of each preceding circuit is connected with first input of each following circuit, storage battery to which control circuit and second input of starting circuit are connected through battery switch and bidirectional inputs-outputs. Series-connected measuring, control and switching units are introduced additionally, each first output of each preceding unit being connected with first input of each following unit, first output of switching unit being connected with first input of measuring unit, and second output of switching unit being connected with second input of measuring unit, bidirectional input-output of pulse capacitor hand and second input of starting power circuit, time relay and manual control push button connected through time relay to second output of control circuit and to second input of control unit whose third input is connected with bidirectional input-output of battery switch and second input of switching unit whose third output is connected to third input of starting setting circuit.

SUBSTANCE: Specification describes method of starting the internal combustion engine equipped with starter and rotational speed sensor whose output signal is proportional to rotational speed of internal combustion engine shaft. Provision is also made for measuring the onboard voltage of automobile power supply system for change (3) of voltage of storage battery during and after start of internal combustion engine. In the course of starting (1) the internal combustion engine with starter in operation, angular position of crankshaft is determined by change (3) in storage battery voltage.
EFFECT: possibility of determination of angular position of crankshaft in case of failure of rotational speed sensor by analyzing the storage battery voltage at starting the engine by means of starter.

With thyristor and current-limiting resistor placed in charging circuit, first switch with making contact and semiconductor with unidirectional conduction shunting series-connected thyristor and resistor at flow of energy accumulator discharge current. Device is furnished with electromagnetic contactor whose breaking contacts provide parallel connection of capacitors, and first making contact, their series connection by at least two-terminal connector for connecting capacitors to electric system of object with internal combustion engine and electric starting system. Winding of contactor is connected to connector through series- connected voltage stabilizing diode, above-indicated first switch with making contact and second two-circuit switch with making contacts. EFFECT: improved safety and convenience in operation owing to provision of automatic change over of capacitors from parallel into series connection when object with rated voltage of 24 V is connected to electric system.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical equipment of vehicles and it can be used for modification of mainline and shunting diesel locomotives of all types. According to invention, proposed starting system of diesel locomotive contains storage battery, device to cut off battery from locomotive electric circuit, electric starter, contacts of starting contactors, capacitive energy stores device and diode. Starter-generator or traction generator is used as electric starter. Capacitive energy storage device is made in form of parallel or parallel-series connected two-plate capacitors. Current-limiting resistor placed in charging circuit of capacitive energy storage device is shunted by diode at flow of energy accumulator discharge current. Proposed starting system is furnished with additional contactor with winding and making contacts first of which is placed in charging circuit of capacitive energy storage device, and control relay with winding and breaking contact. Winding of control relay is connected to capacitive energy storage device through contact of starting contactor. Winding of additional contactor is connected to locomotive circuit through series-connected breaking contact of control relay, first switch with breaking contact and second switch with making contact, second making contact of additional contactor being connected in parallel to the latter.
EFFECT: prevention of charging of capacitive energy storage device to higher voltage generated by locomotive charging generator after starting of diesel engine and keeping of energy storage device between startings at low voltage and, as a result, improved reliability and increased service life of starting system.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for power supply of streetcars and trolley buses. Proposed system is essentially stand-by power supply source for traction motors installed on vehicle. Said power supply source includes storage batteries and several superpower capacitors. Said capacitors are connected in series by means of system of change-over switches when vehicles is to move at its own power supply on de-energized section of contact system. Step-up voltage converter, thus formed, provides required power supply for traction motors. System precludes breakdown current loads on storage battery, provides reliable braking of vehicle and feeds energy into circuit.
