Friction lining of brake pads

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to lining of drum brakes of transport vehicles. Friction lining is made in form of part of cylindrical shell, formed by misaligned cylindrical surfaces with parallel axes of rotation and having different-thickness ends with side surfaces limiting facing from side of thick and thin ends. Each of side surfaces is made in form of two adjacent flat surfaces located at an angle to each other. For each of side surfaces of one of flat surfaces is radial to one of misaligned with cylindrical surfaces of pad, and another flat surface not radial to both misaligned cylindrical surfaces of lining. Flat surface not radial to both misaligned cylindrical surfaces of lining are glossy.

EFFECT: reduced pollution of flat surfaces of pad due to reduction of retention of foreign impurities on said surfaces.

SUBSTANCE: shoe of a brake block comprises the first rib, the second rib, a pad base arranged along circumference on outer sections of the first and second ribs, and fixation of the return spring. Fixation of the return spring is provided by the first rib, with which the return spring of the brake block is connected so that the central line of the return spring is displaced from the axial central line of the pad base and is arranged in the axial direction between the external edge of the central section of the first rib and the external edge of the second end section of the first rib. The drum brake comprises the brake block shoe.

Grooves of working surface of friction pad have similar depth and are made along the parts of arcs of coaxial circles, which are coaxial to friction force arc axis, and grooves of some part of side pad surface are made along straight lines which are not radial to friction force arc of friction pad.

EFFECT: uniform distribution of surface stresses along the contact area of friction pad with counter-body and their compensation, which leads to reduction of possible stress concentration in individual sections of the item surface, and to reduction of possible destruction during operation of individual sections of friction pad.

Brake shoe comprises body equipped with friction elements embedded into said body on friction surface side. Body rear wall has hole to receive brake shoe attachment axle. Body rear walls have inner arched ribs on friction surface side. Friction elements have grooves on sides to be accommodated on said ribs. Side walls have holes to receive friction element ends limiters. Brake shoe attachment axle and friction element limiters support guide bracket for orientation of friction elements relative to wheel flange. Body rear wall has holes to remove heat from friction elements. Arched bearing surface of friction elements in contact with brake shoe body allows independent arrangement of every friction element relative to wheel friction surface.

SUBSTANCE: proposed brake shoe contains cast iron bar on rear side of which boss is arranged containing steel member for wedge-like cotter of shoe holder made in form of shaped section of steel plate enclosing the boss. Hole to pass wedge-like cotter is made in boss. Member is secured on steel plate covering bra from rear side and passing under boss. Found at edges of bar over ends of steel plate are T-shaped cast iron projections for engagement with brake shoe holder. Inserts made of material, abrasiveness differing from abrasiveness of cast iron bar are fitted in body of cast iron bar. Inserts are cylindrical, being arranged on steel plate with embedding into cast iron bar in two groups. Centers of three nearest inserts in each group are equidistant from each other. Groups of inserts are separated by section without inserts, and four extreme cylindrical inserts in groups are provided with ring grooves on side surface. Each group consists of seven insets.

EFFECT: increased balanced service life, reliability, efficiency increased service life of wheels owing to reduction of their wear caused by brake bimetallic shoes.
