Polymer composition for manufacturing electrohydroinsulating material

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer composition for manufacturing sealing and electroinsulating materials for production of connection cable envelope. Composition contains low-pressure polyethylene, lubricant buxol as plasticiser and filling agent representing titanium oxide.

EFFECT: composition is characterised by high thermodynamic compatibility of components, which makes it possible to obtain material with high mechanical characteristics and optimal combination of electro- and hydroinsulating properties.

The invention relates to sealing and insulating materials for the production of sheath of communication cable, preferably an outer layer of the cable, performs a protective function in the manufacture of products for radio and electrical industry.

Known polymer waterproofing material made from waste - composition [1] using polyethylene obtained from waste material, with a density of not more than 0,940 g/cm3and polyethylene with a density of more 0,940 g/cm3the following composition, wt.%:

The disadvantage of this composition is that used as the main component, the polyethylene obtained from waste, can give coatings with low mechanical properties such as ultimate tensile stress, elongation, resistance to cracking under the influence of environmental conditions compared to the original polymer materials. In addition, the aforementioned layers of the coating can the be degraded appearance mainly because of the formation of defects on their surface, for example, the formation of small agglomerates, which not only impair the appearance and violate the smoothness, but also reduce their mechanical characteristics.

The closest in composition to the inventive polymer composition is a polymer waterproofing material [2], including polyethylene, polyisobutylene, coal tar pitch and softening agent (a product of oxidation of bitumen with a boiling point 360-420°C) of the following composition, wt.%:

It is designed for sealing protection, so its composition is introduced fillers with waterproofing effectiveness. However, the binder is polyethylene with just 25%, so the strength characteristics it is very low. Another disadvantage of this composition is that its structure is unnecessarily complicated by a large number of fillers.

Object of the invention is the improvement of physico-mechanical, electrical, and waterproofing material properties, chemical resistance and compatible with the value of components based on cheap and available raw materials.

This object is achieved in that the polymer composition for the manufacture of sealing and insulating material contains low-pressure polyethylene, buccal as a plasticizer and a granular filler TiO2(titanium oxide) in the following ratio, wt.%:

This material is characterized by high thermodynamic compatibility of the components of the composition, which allows you to generate high-quality samples with high mechanical characteristics.

For evaluation of the physico-mechanical properties of the material were prepared by five mixtures, composed of powder of polyethylene (PE) low pressure (20606-012, GOST 16338-70), bulk filler TiO2(titanium oxide) and plasticizer - developed rail lubrication buccal. The initial lubrication:

From each mixture was formed samples by hot pressing at a temperature of 150°C. the compositions of the samples are given in table.1, Physical and mechanical material properties of the claimed composition in comparison with the prototype are given in table.2.

From table 1 it is seen that when the content of polyethylene in the amount of less than 81% of the strength characteristics of the material are greatly reduced and increases water absorption.

Thus, the optimum combination of power and waterproofing properties of the developed material is achieved when the content of polyethylene 82-86%, plasticizer 4-8% and oxide Titus is at rest.

In such compositions, the materials of the proposed compositions are superior to the known strength and water absorption. The ultimate tensile strength of a sample of known composition is not less than 4 MPa, whereas for samples of the proposed composition is 18.7-20.0 MPa, and the water absorption of the proposed composition is less than that of the prototype in more than 60 times.

Developed polymer composite material has a complex technological properties, allowing its processing on standard packaging equipment, good termosvarivaemaya and satisfactory mechanical characteristics. When the plant material can be used proven rail lubrication buccal.

In the generated material at the expense of part of the waste grease additives based nitrated oil AKOR-1, designed to improve protection (conservation) properties of mineral lubricating oils for various purposes and fuels, the principle of combining methods of protecting metal from corrosion as the result of combining both the functions of the barrier and cathodic protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, specifically to cable engineering and polymer compositions based on plasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with low inflammability, release of smoke and hydrogen chloride during combustion, intended for insulating inner and outer sheaths of cables. The electrically insulating composition contains suspended polyvinyl chloride, an ester plasticiser - dioctyl phthalate, tricresyl phosphate, chalk, soot, a stabiliser - melanine, antipyrenes - magnesium hydroxide and ammonium polyphosphate, smoke absorber - chlorinated paraffins, lubricant agent - calcium stearate, antioxidant - diphenylol propane and filler - organoclay, which is a product of modifying montmorillonite from the Gerpegezh deposit of the Kabardino-Balkaria Republic with cation-exchange capacity of 95 mg-eq/100 g clay with urea, in amount of 10% of the mass of montmorillonite.

The electrically insulating composition contains suspension polyvinyl chloride, an ester plasticiser, a lead stabiliser, calcium carbonate, a trihydrate of aluminium oxide or magnesium hydroxide, antimony trioxide, calcium stearate, zinc oxide, zinc borate, a bromine-containing fire retardant, boric acid and diphenylol propane.

EFFECT: invention improves fire safety of wires and cables, reduces smoke-formation during smouldering or combustion and provides low inflammability.

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heterophase polypropylene resin, a method of producing such a polypropylene resin and use thereof in making articles, particularly as material for making insulation and semiconductor layers of power cables. The heterophase polypropylene resin contains a matrix phase of a propylene radom copolymer and a rubber phase of an ethylene-propylene copolymer dispersed in the matrix phase. The heterophase polypropylene resin is characterised by melt flow rate (2.16 kg, 230°C) from 1.0 to 100 g/10 min, determined according to ISO 1133, and a fraction which is soluble in p-xylene at 25°C (XCS fraction), which is present in the resin in amount of 28 to 50 wt % and has molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) from 1.0 to 4.0.

EFFECT: heterophase polypropylene resin has high softness, improved low-temperature impact characteristics and a high melting point.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polyethylene composition, intended for obtaining slow-burning construction materials of general technical and engineering-technical purpose. Composition contains high-density polyethylene and filling agent with particle size 0.145-0.315 mm in quantity 30-50 wt. p. per 100 wt. p. of polyethylene. Filling agent represents mixture of crushed basalt and crushed basalt wool.

EFFECT: obtained compositions possess increased output of coke residue at 600°C, Vicat softening temperature, temperature of destruction starting, toughness, bending strength, as well as high weight loss during combustion.
