Method of growing lotus in containers

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture. In the method lotus is grown in artificial conditions by selection of two containers one of which is placed in the other so that the inner container height is 10-30 cm less than the outer container height. At that in the inner container the planting ground is placed, in which lotus rhizomes are lowered to a depth of 5-15 cm. The soil surface is covered with the drain, which is used as a layer of washed river sand. A layer of fine washed stone with particle diameter of not more than 1 cm is applied on its top, then the container is filled with water. Planting and growing of lotuses in the container can be carried out throughout the year, regardless of the season.

EFFECT: method enables to increase the growth rate of lotus in artificial conditions by growing in containers.

The invention relates to agriculture and can be used for cultivation of Lotus as a decorative culture.

The Lotus is one of the most valuable and at the same time requiring protection of species. To enable its widespread use is necessary to grow the plant artificially. In this regard, a way to grow Lotus in containers.

There is a method of cultivation of Lotus orehonosny in natural and artificial water bodies (U.S. Pat. EN 2419281 published on 27.05.2011, author Pilipenko, V.N.). The method involves the cultivation of Lotus orehonosny in natural and artificial reservoirs, characterized by the preparation of planting material in the form of seeds, preparation of the pond and landing prepared seeds in the reservoir. The disadvantages of this method include the fact that germination is not 100%, and the survival rate and the growth rate of plants is not high.

There is a method of cultivation of Lotus orehonosny in terms of the Volga Delta (U.S. Pat. EN 2376748 published 27.12.2009, author Pilipenko, V.N.), which involves the cultivation of Lotus in natural waters by selecting slow with a muddy bottom sleeves or Erik. Planting material in the form of rhizomes with 2-3 nodes are planted 3-4 rhizomes in the spring when the water temperature is 10-14°C by immersing the roots in the mud. During the course the e vegetation period retain a supply area not less than 5-10 cm of water above the bottom surface. However, this method is only applicable to natural water bodies and does not allow you to spread the Lotus everywhere.

The aim of the present invention is to develop a method of growing a Lotus in containers.

The objective is achieved by the selection of two tanks, one of which is placed in another. The inner container is placed in the planting soil. Planting material is a rhizome with two or more nodes.

Landing lotuses in the vessel can be made throughout the year, regardless of the season.

Figure 1 - arrangement of containers for growing Lotus in artificial conditions.

For growing Lotus chosen two vessels, one of which is placed in another, the height of the inner container must be less than the outer 10-30 see the Diameter of the vessel can be 30 cm or more.

In the capacity of the smaller (inner) fits the boarding ground so that the upper edge of the tank remained a distance of 3-4 cm Into the prepared soil is planting rhizomes of Lotus.

As planting material selected healthy, not damaged rot and pests, rhizome with two or more nodes. Planting rhizomes in the soil is at a depth of 5-15 see After planting, the soil surface is closed with drainage. As Dreux who even uses a layer of washed river sand with a thickness of 1-2 cm, on top of which is applied a small layer of washed stone with a particle diameter of not more than 1 cm, a thickness of 1-2 cm

After this large (outer) tank is filled with water to half, it fits the smaller (inner) container planted in her planting and top up with water to fill the container.

A necessary condition for growing Lotus is good lighting. When growing on the window, select the window of the southern, South-Western exposure. When growing outdoors pot plants should stand in an open Sunny location, the temperature of the water in the tank is maintained at 25-32°C.

The water in the tank is added as evaporation. In the case of intensive breeding green algae water in the tanks is replaced completely by the above method.

Thus, it is possible to grow Lotus in containers that are not used any missing parts or impossible technologies.

1. The method of lotuses growing in containers, characterized in that the cultivation of Lotus produced in vitro by mixing two tanks, one of which is placed in another so that the height of the inner container was smaller outer 10-30 cm, while the inner container is placed in the planting soil in which to put the rhizomes lot is sa at a depth of 5-15 cm, the soil surface is closed with drainage, which is a layer of washed river sand, over which is applied a small layer of washed stone with a particle diameter of not more than 1 cm, then the tank is filled with water.

2. The method of lotuses growing in containers according to claim 1, characterized in that the planting and cultivating of lotuses in the vessel can be made throughout the year regardless of season.
