Method of producing high-purity sphen and aegirine concentrates

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in dressing of minerals and chemical technology for production of sphen and aegirine concentrates of stable quality irrespective of ore composition. Proposed method comprises acid cleaning of mineral impurities, and magnetic separation on low- and high-intensity fields. Prior to acid cleaning, froth product of reverse nepheline flotation is subjected to cleaning using nontoxic depressor, for example, liquid glass or sodium fluorosilicate and acid cleaning in 15% sulfuric acid on mixing for 2-3 h at t=40-50°C. Then, after washing, it is dried and subjected to magnetic separation in high-intensity fields for production of target concentrates.

EFFECT: higher yield.

The invention relates to the beneficiation of minerals and chemical technology of inorganic substances, in particular for complex processing of mineral raw materials.

The Khibiny Apatite-nepheline ores contain Apatite, nepheline, sphene, aegirine, titanomagnetite and feldspars. Aegirine refers to the pyroxenes and includes minerals from aegirine-augite to aegirine, differing in chemical composition and magnetic properties. Aegirine contains small amounts of calcium and a lot of iron, so it is poorly oated and separated by magnetic separation in a magnetic field of high intensity. Aegirine-augite contains 14-20% Cao and less iron, well oated and has a lower aegirine magnetic susceptibility. There are a number of works that focus on a comprehensive enrichment of these ores with obtaining Apatite, nepheline, stanovova, aegirine and magnetite concentrates (Gurchenko INC., A.I. Andreev, Ligach NR. /Development and pilot plant testing of a combined scheme of complex ore Partomchorr field //In the book: Integrated beneficiation of Apatite-nepheline ore. Apatity, KF, USSR Academy of Sciences. - 1978. - P.3-15). Under the scheme complex processing of Apatite-nepheline ores selected in addition to Apatite, nepheline concentrates shenawy, aegirine and Titus is magneticaly concentrates. Stanovy concentrate obtained by refinement of the foam product back nepheline flotation and contained 30-32% Tio2(80-85% sphene), 1.5-2% R2O5(3-5% Apatite); 3% Al2About3(8-10% of nepheline). The disadvantages include the dependence of technology from the mineral composition of the ore. When the decrease in ore sphene, the increase in the content of nepheline and pyroxene quality spanovich concentrates varies, i.e. no permanent makeup stanovova concentrate, which is important for its consumers.

To improve the quality stanovova concentrate invited to lead the second control Apatite flotation in the processing, which simultaneously increases the technological parameters of the production of Apatite concentrate and reduces the content of Apatite in spanova concentrate to 1-2% (0.2-0.8% P2O5). In this way the content of sphene in spanova concentrate is about 85%and it is mainly contaminated with nepheline, the content of which ranges from 10 to 15% (3-5% Al2About3) (patent RF №2152258, CL VV 7/00, 03D 1/02. The method of complex enrichment optioneering ores. /Golovanov V.G. Vasiliev NA, Gurchenko INC. and others //2000. - Bull. No. 19).

Closest to the proposed method of obtaining stanovova concentrate high quality is the way of waste processing of Apatite-nepheline flotation, datormedierade get stanovy concentrate chemical cleaning "froth product of Apatite-nepheline flotation" after magnetic separation with obtaining non-magnetic fraction, directed to chemical dissolution, members of the impurities serial by dissolution in the first stage of nepheline, and the second - Apatite at a temperature of 40-100°C. (patent RF №2197430, CL 01G 23/00, C22/08. The method of waste processing of Apatite-nepheline flotation /Fedorov YEAR, the near Wake J.E., A.I. Alekseev, etc. //2003. - BI No. 3).

The proposed method leads to large losses of sphene, because the foam product back nepheline flotation contains 3-4% of Tio2or 7-10% sphene, up to 35% of nepheline, 7-10% Apatite, more than 40% of the pyroxenes. When the performance of Apatite-nepheline factory 10 million tonnes of ore per year, the amount of foam product back nepheline flotation will be more than 3 million tons of Dissolution of nepheline and Apatite contained herein, will create problems with the use of obtained by this method solutions. You should also consider the costs of acid to the volume of product, as well as the number of reactors and environmental impacts of this technology.

The essence of the proposed technical solution is the use of flotation froth product back nepheline flotation, resulting in outstanding draft stanovy concentrate containing 8-12% nepheline, 5-8% Apatite, 30-40% of pyroxenes and up to 40-50% of sphene (18-24% Tio2). The development of such a product magnetic separation in the field of high napryajenno and would get stanovy concentrate content of about 30% of Tio 2. This product, containing 18-24% Tio2subjected to chemical treatment in one stage, because its output is 0.3-0.5 million tonnes per year at a much lower content here nepheline (4 times) and Apatite.

The amount of chemical cleaning is thus reduced by almost 4 times, and the solutions resulting from this operation can be fully used by factories for thickening of Apatite and nepheline concentrates in the form of coagulants. The proposed technology chemically purified draft stanovy concentrate is subjected to washing, followed by drying and magnetic separation of high tension, after which the obtained high-purity stanovy concentrate content of Tio236.8-37.0%, Al2O3and R2O5less than 0.5% and aegirine concentrate with the same content of impurities. Such concentrates can be used for its intended use. All chemical cleaning is performed in one stage at a temperature of 40-50°C.

The essence of the proposed method can be explained by the following examples.

Example 1. Take 1 kg of rough stanovova concentrate obtained after flotation cleanings foam product back nepheline flotation, which is injected slowly under stirring in a solution of sulfuric acid (15%) of 1.21 kg H2SO41 kg of nepheline, peremeci is up at 40°C for two hours.

Then separated from the solid phase, dried and then subjected to magnetic separation in the field of high tension, get shenawy (non-magnetic fraction) and aegirine (magnetic fraction) concentrates. The content of impurities in both concentrates less than 0.5%, and Tio2in spanova - 36.8%.

Example 2. Take 1 kg of the foam product, stirred for 3 hours with 15% sulfuric acid at 50°C. Then separated from the solid phase, dried and send it to magnetic separation in the field of high tension, get stanovy concentrate and aegirine concentrate with content of P2About5more than 0.1% and Al2About3about 0.5%. The consumption of sulfuric acid based on 100% of the content is 1.21 kg per 1 kg of nepheline.

Table 1 shows a comparative analysis of known and proposed methods.

As outlined in the application data indicate that the proposed solution allows to increase the yield of valuable components, in addition to obtain aluminium coagulant, completely consumed by factories for thickening of Apatite concentrate, and aegirine concentrate of high purity.
