The present invention in General relates to a device and method of pressing edge building panels, especially floor panels, which are the core of the wood fibers and the decorative layer, for forming the edges with a rounding. More specifically, the present invention relates to construction panels made with the inner castle with pressed edges located below the surface of the panel. The invention relates to panels with edges and to a method and device for the production of such panels.
In particular, but not exclusively, the invention relates to a device and method for the production of laminated floor panels with a rounded and pressed edge. However, the invention also relates to building panels in General. As the invention shown in Figures 2-5, it concerns a device and method of manufacture of building panels with extruded rounded edge, as well as construction panels produced using the above device and method.
Device and method for the production of building panels with extruded and a rounded edge in accordance with the prior art shown in Figa-1C. In Figures 2 and 3 show the performance of building panels in accordance with the invention, produced according to the invention and equipped with well-known mechanical locking system.
In Figures 1A-C shows the three steps of the method of providing molded edges in accordance the with the previous prior art. Figure 1A presents the construction element, which in the next step, see Figure 1b, is cut into two construction element (2, 2') and provided with edge grooves (6, 6'). An embodiment of the device and method in accordance with the present invention is illustrated in Figure 4. The device includes a conveyor (40) for movement of construction panel (2) to the heating device (8). Heating device, such as an infrared heating element arranged to heat the edge of the construction element. In the second step, the conveyor moves the building panel to a pressing element for pressing the edges of the building panel. Preferably both opposite edges are heated and then pressed simultaneously rotating the pressing element.
