The technical FIELD

The invention relates to interactive digital television and is intended for the formation of the client-side integrated news channel (INC.), providing the user the ability to view news at any convenient time, to track the development over time of any news story, to compare points of view different channels on a particular event, select to view the stories that match his preferences. The transition to digital broadcasting, accompanied by a sharp increase in the number of channels, not only solves these problems but creates a new problem of gear selection, preferred to view, among the whole set of transmission, broadcast on all channels.

The efforts of the developers recently focused on solving the latter problem, which is not surprising: it is rapidly growing along with the growing number of channels. Existing methods of its solution at the point of sale are divided into two categories. The main disadvantage is a significant increase of load to the transmitting apparatus and the communication channels, which limits the application of these methods networks of relatively small size. The methods of the second category are implemented on the client side. Disadvantages: firstly, due to frequent changes in the program guide it is impossible to provide an exact match moments starts/endings records and moments the actual beginnings/endings of the selected gear. In addition, the methods of this category, as well as all other modern technology, do not give solutions to the problems that were identified above as “what to watch” and “how to watch”. The user is forced to choose to record the transfer as a whole, so as soon as they are presented in the electronic program guide, while the interest may only represent their individual stories, the presence of which in one way or another transfer may be not known in advance and, moreover, it is not known the time of their broadcast. The user is also deprived of the opportunity to compare different points of view on a particular issue and to view the history of its development in time.

Thus, all existing methods of customization (orientation preferences of a specific user) television along with their strengths are not without apparent deficiencies.

Most notably these shortcomings appear on the transmission, consisting of heterogeneous fragments of varying degrees of interest to the user. The transmission of this type include, for example, concerts and so-called environmental television magazine. From disparate fragments, composed, and many other TV shows and movies, so some might be interested in and able to compile scenes of a particular subject of them, or, conversely, to exclude certain scenes during recording and/or viewing (e.g., parental control). The most striking and one of the most popular examples of such programs are news releases.

In this regard there is an urgent need to develop methods that

- will provide the user the ability to choose to view not only releases news programs as a whole, but some of their stories that meet their interests;

- will provide the user with the opportunity to become acquainted with the background being viewed them a news report;

- will provide the user with an opportunity to get acquainted with the whole range of points of view on viewing them n vhostname the plot.

DISCLOSURE of INVENTIONS

In the present invention this problem is solved by developing a method of forming an integrated news channel (INC.). The basis of this method is the formation of metadata classifying not only releases news programs in General, but their individual stories, the start time, end time, genres, themes, authors, copyright owners, performers, participants, brief announcement, any other text, graphic and multimedia information associated to this issue of the news of the program as a whole and its separate story), hereinafter referred to extended metadata. The user terminal may be equipped with means for entering, editing and storage of the user profile that contains the demographic characteristics of the user and/or his or her expressed preferences when viewing editions of news programs. In some implementations, the user profile may be adjusted based on the collection of information about the history of television programmes in General and/or news programs in particular. In these cases, there is a possibility to sort the news items listed in INC., also according to the degree of their conformity with user preferences. For example, some news sections, not of interest to this particular user can be completely removed from the database, integrated news channel.

While reducing the space allocated to the storage device to store the database INC., up to the limit the most is e old news items are removed.

Thus, the present invention eliminates all of the problems listed in the section “prior art”.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION of DRAWINGS

The IMPLEMENTATION of the INVENTION

The receiving station and video storage 1 integrates editions of news programs from all over the television network.
