A detailed description of the preferred embodiments

The following is a detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

Figure 1 is a block diagram of the operational sequence of the method, illustrating one variant of the method of notifying the user about the program according to the present invention.

First, the program determines if the user occasionally (or often) looking at the program or its part. A definition such as this can be done for all programs on the channels available to the user. If so, till the time the actual broadcast of the program device is configured to alert the user about an upcoming program that the user has tuned to a channel that broadcasts in the broadcast mode this program exactly or approximately during the broadcast of the program (S90).

The alert at step S90 may be configured according to user preferences. For example, the user can set using devices receiving broadcast how often the user should be notified, and the method (for example, audio or visual), which should be notified to the user. The user can also set how long in advance the user must be is notified of the desired user program. Once the program is registered in the information search program, the device determines whether there is any change in the incoming SI data (S60). If there is determined whether there is the same channel, the start time and title (name of program), as these elements of the program registered in the list of search programs, accept (modified) SI data (S70). Alternatively, only the same name as the program can be verified or any parameter that identifies the program.

If at step S40 it is determined that the amount of time viewing the current program does not exceed the threshold value, the process returns to step S10.

According to the present invention the device is configured to automatically check any program that the user periodically scans, and automatically notify the user about the upcoming broadcast of the program.

Figure 2 is an example of a list view programs according to one variant of implementation of the present invention. The list of programs, as shown in figure 2, can contain information such as title, time of broadcast, channel, and time of the next broadcast program, as part of the registered information about viewing programs. For example, the header ("DEF") program, which is periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode can be registered, and information such as the time of broadcast ("22:00"), channel ("110") and the time of the next broadcast ("9/20 22:00") program, can be registered in the list of programs according to the program header. Other choices are possible.

If the information in the SI data indicates that the program is periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode, the next sh is acoustilay transfer programs can be identified in SI-based data program header. However, if information about the program in the SI data does not indicate that the program is periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode, the words "NOT FOUND" may be displayed or shown, or index label can remain empty.

Periodic information, such as "0" and "1"may be assigned according to the day of the week. The method of notifying the user about the time of the broadcast program according to the present invention can be performed by the visual representation of labels, icons, symbols, HTML, etc. on the screen alerts, by generating an audio alarm, or by both. As shown in figure 4, the device for receiving broadcasting includes transport decoder 10, which converts the received signal (for example, the broadcast signal into a transport stream, and outputs the transport stream. Video decoder 20 decodes the video data received from the transport stream, and outputs the final video in block 25 of the display for display. Audio decoder audio 30 decodes the audio data received from the transport stream, and outputs the final audio data to the speaker 35 for audio playback.

SI-decoder 40 analyzes the SI data contained in the transport stream, and generates and outputs information about viewing programs, indicating periodic broadcast program(s), analyzed data from block 70 storage to save information about viewing programs. Information about viewing software is updated continuously or regularly as new broadcast signal, with new/updated SI-data is accepted.

Unit 90, the control searches for information about viewing the programs stored in the block 70 is wound, and displays time of broadcast (and other information) of the program unit 95 alert to alert the user. 1. Device for alerting the user of the broadcast, where the device includes: a controller to determine whether a periodic information indicating that the program is periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode, the received broadcast signal, and does the program for at least the specified amount of time, and to record the program information on the program viewing, if it is determined that the program is periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode, programmoye plays for, at least the specified amount of time; and a notification unit to selectively notify the user about the upcoming time broadcast program before the program begins, on the basis of information about viewing programs.

14. The device according to item 13, in which the controller registers the program in information search programs, if it is determined that the program is not periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode the program and plays for at least the specified amount of time.

15. The device according to 14, in which the controller determines whether there is a change in the periodic information regarding the program registered in the information search program, and registers the program recorded in the information search programs, information about viewing programs, if the change in the periodic information indicates that the program now is periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode the program.

The device according to item 13, in which the notification unit notifies the user about the upcoming time broadcast program, if the controller determines that the program is scheduled to be periodically transmitted in the broadcast mode, and the program viewed by a user during at m is re, some period of time.
