The invention relates to machine building industry and can be used when operating the multi-tracked and wheeled vehicles to determine the water content in motor oils.

A device for determining the water content in the engine oil, consisting of glass for placing samples insulating glass, shells, cover with two holes (for the measuring device and backfill samples), hand mixer, consisting of a rod, the handle and the blade, and the measuring device [1].

The disadvantage of this device is that its design does not provide an airtight seal of the internal cavity during the introduction of the reagent into the sample required for the chemical reaction with the release of heat and gas, as well as the inability to use, as the measured parameter of the reaction, the pressure increase due to volumetric expansion of the oil and gas mixture formed when heated.

The objective of the invention is the provision of hermetic isolation of the internal cavity of the device with the introduction of the reagent into the sample, which gives the possibility to use as a measured parameter of the reaction, the pressure increase due to thermal expansion and dissolved gas, and as a measuring device - a liquid manometer.

Solution put the authorized tasks is achieved by in the known device, comprising a Cup for accommodating the sample, heat-insulating glass, case, cover, technological hole measuring device, hand mixer, consisting of a rod, the handle and the blade, and the measuring device, offered the blade to do with the possibility of placing on the ends of the sample reagent and sample reagent oil when mixing, technological hole positioned in the housing directly under the cover and to equip his pipe with a tee for connection of the measuring device and valve for equalizing the pressure inside the device to atmospheric before diving attachment of the reagent to the sample oil in a glass to perform the slot, coinciding with the axis of the tube and, as a measuring device to use liquid manometer.

The proposed device includes a container 1 for accommodating an oil sample, heat-insulating glass 2, the case 3, the insulating cover 4 with the seal for the rod, technological hole measuring device, hand mixer, consisting of a rod 5, the arm 6 and the blades 7, the measuring device 8. The blade 7 is made in a volumetric figure of eight with a blind bottom, perforated sides and an open top with an opportunity to place at the ends of the sample reagent and access to oil with stirring. Those is technological hole made in the casing immediately below the cover 4 and is equipped with a tube 9 with a tee for connection of the measuring device and the valve 10 to equalize the pressure inside the device to atmospheric before diving attachment of the reagent to the sample oil. In the nozzle slot coinciding with the axis of the tube and, as a measuring device using a liquid (water) pressure gauge.

The invention is illustrated by drawings, where:

figure 1 shows the design of the proposed device;

figure 2 presents the calibration table to determine the water content in the oil when used as a reagent San2.

The device operates as follows. The sample is thoroughly mixed oil mass of 200 g with an error of not more than 0.1% is poured into the Cup 1 Cup 1 with the sample placed in heat-insulating glass 2 devices, aligning the slot in the Cup 1 with the axis of the tube 9. A portion of the reagent mass of 2.3 g (Sao2) or 3.5 g (CAC2) is placed in the blade 7 at the lowest position of the rod 5. Then the rod 5 lead to its extreme upper position. Tightly fasten the cover 4 to the housing 3, open the faucet 10 of the tube 9, equalize the pressure inside the device and in the left side of the U-shaped tube filled with liquid (water) pressure gauge 8, provided with a graduated scale, with atmospheric pressure. Then the valve 10 is closed, smoothly lower the rod 5 to the lowest position and immersed in oil the blade 1 with the addition of reagent to produce stirring with the handle 6. Water, the heavier substance, to the centered due to centrifugal forces at the lower part of the walls of the glass, where placed on the blades reagent.

In the process of mixing an oil sample every minute note indications of liquid (water) pressure gauge (pressure h in mm of water column). When excessive (compared to atmospheric) pressure h will remain within 2 minutes of constant testing done. According to the calibration table for pressure values of h determine the percentage of water in oil. For example, when h is equal to 19 mm, water content in the oil will amount to 0.55% (figure 2).

It is the fulfillment of the blades of the hand mixer with the possibility of placing on the ends of the sample reagent and sample reagent oil when mixing, the location of the holes in the housing directly below the lid and the equipment of his pipe with a tee for connection of the measuring device and valve for equalizing the pressure inside the device to atmospheric before diving attachment of the reagent to the sample oil in the glass slits coinciding with the axis of the tube, and use as a measuring device a liquid manometer provides an airtight seal internal slot device that enables to use to determine the amount of unreacted water pressure increase due to thermal expansion of the oil, air and gas evolved, and as the measuring device if the ESCWA unreacted water - liquid manometer. Thanks to the developed device, it becomes possible to determine the water content in the engine oil in the field. The time of the experiment is reduced to 4 minutes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for estimating contamination of diesel oil with particles of soot for replacement of oil in due time. Level of oil contamination is estimated by change of intensity of optical radiation passing through optical rod owing to complete internal reflection on interface of sensitive cylindrical surface - oil. Change of intensity is measured caused both by change of absorption in layer of penetration of radiation into oil and change of refraction index of oil at increase of concentration of soot particles in oil. Optical rod is made of optical material whose refraction index of which is greater than refraction index of engine oil under testing, ratio of length of rod to its diameter being not less than 10:1. first end face of rod square to optical axis is in contact with source and receiver of optical radiation, and second end face of rod square to optical axis is provided with reflecting mirror coating. Cleaning of sensitive surface of optical element is done by means of electrostatic field. Concentration of soot particles in oil is evaluated basing on change of measured signal relative to signal received at testing of clean oil with use of calibration relationship.
