SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing blank with two thickened end portions and one thickened portion in mean zone; deforming prepared blank in cavity of die set while making openings in thickened end portions at displacing blank metal; shaping mean portion of connecting rod and after-forming its heads. Volume of thickened portion in mean zone of blank exceeds volume of mean portion of article by value equal to half of total metal volume of blank displaced at making said openings. Gravity center of thickened portion of mean zone is spaced from axes of openings by distance inversely proportional to metal volumes displaced at forming respective openings.

The invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure and can be used, in particular, in the closed forging connecting rods in engines and other products.

The known method the closed forging of a connecting rod, which consists in preparing a workpiece with two integral thickening and middle plot, placing it in the stream bottom stamp, the subsequent deformation of the workpiece in the cavity of the upper and lower dies by molding body products of the upper stamp and the simultaneous formation of the punches holes in both ends of the bulges, ostanovka heads of the connecting rod (Japan's bid No. 61-137641, MKI UK 1/08, B21J 5/02, publ. 25.06.1986 year).

The described method does not allow to improve the quality of the produced rod due to the large probability of occurrence of utain and terminals in the mating heads of the connecting rod with the body of the product that is due to the formation of counter-flows of metal, resulting in the formation of the body and heads of the connecting rod (Atroshenko A.P. Hot stamping hard materials / Apetersen, VI Fedorov. - L.: engineering, 1979. - S-270).

Closest to the proposed invention to the technical essence and the achieved result (prototype) is the way closed forging of a connecting rod of the engine, which consists in preparing a workpiece with two integral thickening and middle plot, the volume of metal to which which exceeds the amount of the relevant section of the product by 10-20%, the deformation of the workpiece in the cavity of the stamp by forming holes at both ends of the thickening and the formation of the middle section of the product followed by postanovkoi heads of the connecting rod. The implementation of this method allows you to create a directed metal flow and to reduce the likelihood of utain and terminals in the mating heads of the connecting rod with the middle section of the product (application of Japan No. 62-3846, MKI WC 1/12, B21J 5/02, publ. 09.01.1987 year).

The main disadvantage of the closed forging of a connecting rod of the engine is the low quality of the product due to the high probability of occurrence of utain and terminals in the mating end of the thickening of the middle section of the product, due to the emergence of a counter-flow of metal during the formation of the middle section and the walls of the heads of the connecting rod due to the mismatch between the host and the volume of excess metal at the middle section of the workpiece with respect to the axes of the holes of the heads of the connecting rod and values of the volume of metal displaced in the walls of the heads of the connecting rod in the formation of holes in end thickenings (Atroshenko A.P. Hot stamping hard materials / Apetersen, VI Fedorov. - L.: engineering, 1979. - S-270).

The invention is aimed at improving the quality of the connecting rod of the engine.

To achieve the technical result in the famous pic shall be closed forging of a connecting rod of the engine, including deformation in the cavity of the closed stamp blanks with two integral thickening and middle plot, the volume of which exceeds the amount of the middle section of the rod, by forming holes in both ends of the bulges with the displacement of the metal of the workpiece and forming the middle section of the rod followed by postanovkoi his head, in accordance with the invention using the workpiece with a formed at its middle plot thickening, whose volume exceeds the volume of the middle section of the rod by an amount equal to half of the total volume of the metal workpiece is displaced in the formation of holes in the ends of the bulges, and the center of gravity of the said thickened middle area of the workpiece placed on the distances from the axes of the above-mentioned holes the magnitude of which is inversely proportional to the values of the volume of metal displaced during the formation of holes in the respective end thickenings.

The use of the workpiece with an average plot in the form of a thickening amount greater than the amount of metal corresponding plot of the product at the above value, and the center of gravity thickening of the middle section of the workpiece at distances from the axes of the holes is inversely proportional to the magnitude of the volume of metal displaced during the formation of holes, creates the same amounts of ass the major threads of metal, displaced in the walls of the heads of the connecting rod from the thickening of the middle section of the workpiece and cavities limit swelling in the formation of holes. This eliminates the formation of utain and terminals in the mating heads of the connecting rod with its middle section, which significantly improves the quality of products.

The way of the closed forging of a connecting rod of the engine is illustrated by drawings, where figure 1 schematically shows the workpiece, figure 2 - receive the connecting rod of the engine.

From rolled, for example, by rolling prepare the workpiece 1 (figure 1) with two end knobs 2 and 3. Through the centers of gravity thickening 2 and 3 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 4 of the workpiece 1 are the axes 5 and 6, the distance between which is equal to the distance between the axes 7 and 8 holes 9 and 10 of the heads 11 and 12 of the connecting rod 13 (figure 2). The middle portion 14 of the workpiece 1, located between the leaf thickening 2 and 3, is formed with a thickening 15, the amount of metal which exceeds the corresponding length of the connecting rod 13 by an amount equal to half of the total volume of metal displaced during formation of the holes 9 and 10 of the product 13. Thus, the center of gravity 16 of the thickening 15 place from the axes 5 and 6 at distances inversely proportional to the volume of metal displaced during formation of the holes 9 and 10 in end thickenings 2 and 3 (figure 1).

At the same time when forming the middle section of the product of the corresponding values of the shift amounts of the metal in the inner walls 19 and 20 of the heads 11 and 12 of the thickening 15 of the workpiece 1 (figure 1), since the degree of the expiration of the metal from the thickening 15 in the walls 19 and 20 of the heads 11 and 12 is inversely proportional to the distance of the axes of these heads from the center of gravity 16 of the thickening 15 (1) according to well-known position that the degree of expiry of the metal in various cavity is inversely proportional to the resistance to deformation, which in this case is linearly dependent on the distance of the axes 5 and 6 to the center of gravity 16 of the enlargement 15 of the workpiece 1.

The result is the formation of associated equal to the volume of the flow of metal towards the walls 19 and 20 of the heads 11 and 12 of the connecting rod 13 which prevents utain and clamps, which significantly improves the quality of products. Then make postanovka heads 11 and 12 of the connecting rod 13.

Example. Experimental punching rods of engines in the closed die. The material of the rod - steel HN. Temperature stamping 1180°C.

To build the settlement of the workpiece determine Aut:

1) head volume 11 of the connecting rod 13 (2) V11=33400 mm3;

head volume 12 V12=21931 mm3;

2) the volume of metal displaced in forming the holes 9 of the head 11 of the connecting rod 13 (2) V9=9734 mm3;

the volume of metal displaced in forming the holes 10 of the head 12 of the rod 13 V10=6488 mm3;

3) volume limit thickening 2 of the workpiece 1

V2=V11-0,5V9=33400-0,5·9734=28533 mm3;

volume limit thickening 3 of workpiece 1

V3=V12-0,5V10=21931-0,5·6488=18687 mm3;

4) volume thickening 15 middle section 14 of the workpiece 1

V15=0,5(V9+V10)=0,5(9734+6488)=8111 mm3.

The location of the center of gravity 16 of the thickening of the 15 components (1) determine their ratio:

where l1- the distance from the axis 5 of the enlargement 2 of the workpiece 1 to the center of gravity 16 of the thickening 15;

l2- the distance from the axis 6 of the thickening of the 3 components (1) to the center of gravity 16 of the thickening 15.

For experienced punching rod original piece of calculated profile (figure 1) was obtained by turning.

Stamped forgings had a good ka is estvo surface with no signs of any defects and favorable fibrous structure of the metal. There was also a decrease in the forging force due to reduction of non-uniformity of deformation in the process of formation of the product.

SUBSTANCE: method is realized with use of forging press with forging die sets of nickel base super-alloy having yield limit no less than stress of plastic yielding of super-alloy at forging for making forged pieces at temperature range approximately from 926.67°C till approximately 1010.00°C at nominal deformation rate. Blank for forging and die sets are heated till said forging temperature. Forging is realized at such temperature and at nominal deformation rate. Nickel base super-alloy selected from group of alloys may be used as material of forged blank. According to one variant of invention blank of compacted powder of nickel base super-alloy is used for forging. In such case die sets are made of nickel-base super-alloy containing, mass%: aluminum, approximately 5 - 7%; molybdenum, approximately 8 - 15%; tungsten, approximately 5 - 15%; magnesium, near 140 ppm; nickel and impurities, the balance.

EFFECT: lowered costs for producing forged pieces of super-alloy with desired properties.
