Composition for plates made from rice shell

FIELD: compositions used for manufacture of plates from wood laminate.

SUBSTANCE: composition for manufacture of plates contains rice shell or rice shell and sawdust mixture used as filler, liquid sodium glass having modulus of 2.4-3.6, and silicon dioxide. Artificial silicon dioxides or siliceous dust-like wastes of various industries may be used as silicon dioxides, with SiO2 content making at least 80%. Composition components are used in predetermined ratio.

EFFECT: improved strength and water tightness, and increased efficiency in utilization of various wastes.

The invention relates to compositions used for the manufacture of chipboard. There are many formulations for plates based on inorganic, organic binder. As wood filler in such compositions are applied sawdust, shavings, dust, and as a binder most commonly used water-soluble silicates of sodium. In this invention it is proposed to use agricultural waste (rice husk), wood (sawdust) and metallurgical (silica dust).

Known composition for chipboard, inclusive, parts by weight: wood chips - 100; liquid sodium glass, dry matter - 40-60; the contained water - 80-20; in addition, this technical solution as modifiers use sodium fluorosilicate preparation - 1.2-4.2; and polyalkoxysiloxanes - 0.6-2.0. (Patent RF № 2057773, CL 08 L 97/02, 10.04.1996 g) [1].

The disadvantage of this technical solution is that obtained from such adhesive compositions chipboards have compared with the claimed composition reduced strength characteristics and resistance.

The closest technical solution chosen for the prototype is a composition for chipboard, including

(EN, 2150376 C1, 7 27 N 3/04, 08 L 97/02) [2].

This technical solution used silica dust waste ferrosilicon production i.e. use SiO2-containing waste is only one type with the content of SiO2not less than 90%.

The objective of the proposed technical solution is expanding the range of recyclable wastes, as well as increasing the strength and water resistance of the resulting wood-shaving plates.

The problem is solved due to the fact that the inventive composition contains a filler, liquid sodium glass module 2.4-3.6, silicon dioxide, characterized in that the filler it contains rice husks or a mixture of rice husk and sawdust, as well as silicon dioxide it contains artificial silica or silica dust waste from various industries with the content of SiO2not less than 80% in the following ratio of components, parts by weight:

Rice husk- 50-100
Sawdust - 0-50
Liquid sodium glass on the dry rest- 25-50
Silicon dioxide- 10-70

In the inventive solution as a new modifying additives acting hardener, it is proposed to use synthetic silica with a specific surface area of more than 50 m2/g and SiO2-containing wastes of various metallurgical content of amorphous silica 80% or more. The choice of synthetic silica with a specific surface area of 50 m2/g or more due to the fact that the finer the particle size of the powder (it is necessary to consider that the treatment temperature is low), so they are more active, faster interact with sodium silicate, more evenly mixed with all the weight. You can use silica with a smaller specific surface area, but this may lead to a decrease in resistance due to incomplete interaction with sodium silicate or due to the heterogeneity of the distribution of the powder in the total mass. Waste steel production (with the content of SiO280% or more) are composed of amorphous silica, which is very active, and specific surface of such additives typically is not of great importance. These wastes must not contain large amounts of chlorine and iron, which is haunted ruin silicates of sodium, such waste will require additional amounts of liquid sodium glass for neutralization, and this, in turn, can greatly increase the moisture content of the mass to an invalid value. At the same time, components such as chromium, aluminum, zirconium, and many others, provide additional reinforcing effect and enhances the water resistance of the products.

As a binder of the claimed technical solution used an aqueous solution of liquid sodium silicate glass with module 2.4-3.6 density of 1.3-1.6 g/cm3and content of the basic substance (dry residue) 33-40 wt.%.

Liquid glass with the spectrum module and the density standard is used for various construction materials. When using lower-ins require additional neutralization of the alkali, and the use of liquid glass with the module above 3.6 sharply decreases the adhesion, and hence the strength of the products. Density of 1.3-1.6 g/cm3- also commonly used density. The density of below 1.3 g/cm3rarely used as a ligament because of the low content of the basic substance and a low adhesive capacity and higher density of 1.6 g/cm3rarely used due to the large viscosity (but can be used liquid glass to the higher density after dilution with water).

the filler used rice husks, dust, rice husk, wood chips, sawdust, wood dust and bark. The basic condition for the use of any wood waste as filler - he (filler) should not destroy the silicate bond (for example, should not contain large amounts of organic acids) or should not contain large amounts of carbohydrates, which, obuglivanie during heat treatment, do not allow the glue particles of the filler (in the case of sugar cane waste), and etc. Therefore the number of input sawdust should not exceed 50 parts by weight, since the introduction of larger amounts may cause unwanted effects (and possibly the use of the composition without sawdust, see examples 3, 4 of Table 1). In the ideal case it is possible to prepare compositions with any ratio of rice husk and sawdust, if they do not destroy the silicates of sodium, the most suitable for this case sawdust hardwood.

Samples of particleboard was prepared as follows. Initially prepared binder. Liquid sodium glass module 1.4-3.6 density of 1.4-1.6 g/cm3(25 to 50 mass parts in terms of dry substance) was thoroughly mixed with silicon dioxide or silica dust (10-70 parts by weight). The obtained binder mixed with rice husk or with a mixture of rice husk wood about what ilok, adding them in small portions (the total amount of the mixture of 100 parts by weight). The mass is thoroughly mixed.

The mixture is evenly distributed in the mold, extruded at a pressure of 1.0-4.0 MPa for 5-7 minutes. The plate was dried at room temperature for 24 hours, then brought the temperature up to 150-200°C, then slowly cooled until complete evaporation. The selection of the fractional composition and conditions of compaction received plate density 850-1400 kg/m3.

The resulting billets slabs cut by format and tested indicators GOST 10632-89 "Plate wood particle Board".

Examples of the formulation of the prototype and the claimed composition are summarized in table 1. Physico-mechanical properties of the samples chipboard inventive composition, as well as a sample of the prototype are summarized in table No. 2.

In this part did not apply additional water, except the one that contains liquid sodium glass and filler; typically, the moisture content of the rice husk does not exceed 5%sawdust can contain more water. Humidity mass regulate the density of liquid sodium glass (the higher the humidity of the filler, the greater the density should be at the liquid glass). The main indicator of the optimum moisture content mass for molding is strength raw plate and the preservation of its size (plate h which should increase the amount of drying air due to the large springy capacity of rice husk particles), in addition, water should be squeezed out under pressure, which can lead to lower final strength.

As can be seen from table No. 2, the inventive composition allows to obtain a durable water-resistant plate, using as filler rice husks or a mixture of rice husk and sawdust. This method allows you to dispose of agricultural waste, wood and steel production.
