FIELD: pulp and paper industry; methods of production of the pigment for manufacture of the cardboard and paper.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the method of production of the pigment for manufacture of the cardboard and paper and may be used in pulp and paper industry at production of the filled paper, the coated paper and the cardboard. Calcium hydroxide suspension is treated with aluminum sulfate solution in the aqueous medium at stirring. The treatment is conducted in the aqueous medium containing the binding in the dissolved state. The binding is chosen from the group, which includes starch and polyvinyl alcohol in the amount of 0.5-5.0 mass % from the mass of the absolutely dry pigment, and-or the colorant in the amount of 0.1-0.5 mass % from the mass of the absolutely dry pigment. The technical result of the invention is the improved quality of the pigment and expansion of its field of application.

The invention relates to the production of pigment, as well as to the technology of making paper with filler, coated paper and cardboard.

A known method of manufacturing sattvas, in which the dispersion of calcium hydroxide reacts with a mixture of aluminum sulfate and zinc sulfate (US 5904761 A).

The closest analogue to the proposed method of production of a pigment is a method in which aluminum sulfate and calcium hydroxide are mixed in a planetary mixer and reacts with the formation of sativas. Aluminum sulfate is used in the form of an aqueous solution with a salt concentration 20-28%, and calcium hydroxide is used in the form of a dispersion with a concentration of 30-40% (EP NO. 1198522, 09 WITH 1/40, 24.03.2004).

However, these methods do not allow to get sativas modified binder and/or a dye.

A positive result from the use of the present invention to provide pigments, modified binders and/or dye of any color, is suitable for use in the production of different types of paper and cardboard as a filler and as a component in coating compositions.

Delivered a positive result is achieved by the fact that in the proposed method of obtaining a pigment for the manufacture of paper and cardboard by treating a suspension of calcium hydroxide with a solution of aluminum sulfate in an aqueous medium under stirring according to the invention using an aqueous medium containing soluble in the form of a binder selected from the group comprising starch and polyvinyl alcohol in the amount of 0.5 to 5.0% by weight of absolutely dry pigment and/or dye in an amount of 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of absolutely dry pigment.

The method is as follows. In the reactor-mixer equipped with a high-speed stirrer, serves a quantity of water containing in solution a specified amount of the binder is starch or PVA and/or dye. Then, in this environment with intensive stirring and dispersed specified amount of powder of calcium hydroxide, after the filing of the dispersion is stirred for a few minutes. Next, to the resulting dispersion with stirring, slowly add a solution of aluminum sulfate containing a given quantity of aluminum sulfate, is stoichiometrically equal to the number filed in the reactor calcium hydroxide. The result is a dispersion of a pigment, the modified binder and/or a dye with a solids content of 20-25%.

This dispersion is used, for example the EP, in the production of white or colored paper, filler, or upon receipt of compositions for coating paper and cardboard.

Physico-chemical processes occurring in the reaction mixture can be represented as follows.

When the stoichiometric ratio of the components in the mixture they spent fully. The result of this reaction in the presence of the original aqueous phase in the form of dissolved binder and/or dye is formed pigment, the modified binder and/or a dye. The particle size of the pigment is less than 2 μm with a primary size of less than 1 μm. Pigment not containing the dye has a high whiteness. The pigment, the modified pigment may be of any color. The intensity of this color is high.

The ability of the pigment particles to keep substances such as starch, PVA, dye, due, apparently, a strong polar interaction of the pigment with the water molecules and the appropriate structuring of large amount of water layer in the hydration shells around the particles of pigment in their education. The pigment dispersions with a concentration of dry substances of 20% or higher, with the average size of the pigment particles of about 1 micron in the water phase is in the structured condition. If the water is in the process of formation of the pigment contains dissolved substances, these substances end up in the "related the nom particles of pigment condition. Even after repeated dilution of the system and vigorous stirring of the water shell structured particles are not washed away.

The process conditions for the proposed method are given in table 1, the characteristics of the samples in these examples is in table 2.

As the main characteristics of the modified pigments are used, the degree of retention of the pigment binder and/or dye which is defined as follows.

A certain amount of dispersion of a modified pigment is mixed by a high-speed stirrer with a certain amount of water. The diluted dispersion stand alone before the separation. The bottom layer is a free-floating sediment dispersion and the upper transparent that do not contain suspended solids aqueous layer. In this layer determine the binder content and/or dye. Then recalculation on weight of solids of pigment taken on the dilution of the sample variance determine the amount of binding and/or dye as associated with the pigment and the aqueous phase dispersions. The degree of retention of the pigment binder and/or dye with multiple diluting the dispersion with water expressed in % of submitted into the system during the manufacturing process of the modified pigment amount of binder and/or dye.

Thus, the proposed method provides in order to obtain pigments (sativas), modified binders and/or dye of any color. The degree of retention of the pigment binder and/or dye is high. New quality pigment allows you to extend the field of its application, significantly reducing the level of pollution by sewage and paper production.

SUBSTANCE: calcium carbonate product is designed for containing paper and comprises mixture of first and second separate calcium carbonate particles, wherein difference between first and second calcium carbonate particles ranges from about 0.1 μm to 0.2 μm and weight ratio of first to second particles lies between about 50:50 and about 80:20. Pigment is intended for coating paper and made from above-defined product. Method concerns containing paper and comprises preparation of mixed pigment based on calcium carbonate precipitated in the form of aragonite having above-indicated makeup; addition of binder; and deposition of the pigment onto a base paper in the form of binder-containing suspension. Paper is then dried and calendared. Also described are: paper obtained by above method; a method to increase gloss of paper sheet involving operation of including above product into base paper coating suspension; a method to increase gloss of paper involving operation including calcium carbonate product wherein first calcium carbonate particles have average size about 0.4 μm and the second ones about 0.5 μm at their weight ratio 60:40, respectively; a method to increase gloss of paper sheet involving operation of including pigment based on argonite-type calcium carbonate with difference between first and second average particle size values from about 0.1 μm to 0.2 μm and their weight ratio between about 50:50 and about 80:20 into base paper coating suspension.
