Closed die set for hot die forging with slit compensators

FIELD: hot plastic working of metals, namely technological fittings for crank hot forging presses and steam-air hammers mounted in forging-forming shops.

SUBSTANCE: closed die set includes upper and lower halves and lower knocking out member. In lower half of die set there are compensators in the form of vertical slits having holes in their end portions and uniformly arranged around die set configuration. Knocking out member may be in the form of pushing core.

EFFECT: simplified design of die set, possibility for using low-waste forging processes realized in widely used standard equipment.

The invention relates to the field of hot processing of metals by pressure in mechanical engineering, in particular to the design of closed die forging and stamping plants, mounted on crank die forging press and air hammer.

Famous private stamp for three-dimensional hot stamping slot expansion joint comprising upper and lower halves, the latter of which is made with evenly spaced around the shape of the stamp compensators in the form of cracks, and the lower ejector. Trim joints is made by extrusion forging shapes stamp [1].

The disadvantage of this stamp is that to use it in production requires special equipment with lower pusher force sufficient to cut the joints.

Technical result achieved the proposed technical solution is to simplify the design of the stamp and the possibility of using low-stamping from a widespread commodity hardware.

This technical result is achieved in that in the closed die when hot the drop-forging as expansion joints are simple slots arranged vertically on the lower half of the stamp evenly around the shape of the stamp.

Figure 1 shows a General view of the closed stamp is slotted joints and lower ejector.

Private stamp contains the upper half of the stamp 1, the lower half of the stamp 4, the ejector 5 and around the figure 3, on the lower half of the stamp 4 are vertical slotted joints 2 with holes 6 at the ends. Compensators 2 provide excess metal. Hole 6 at the ends of the joints 2 relieve internal stresses in the lower half of the stamp 4 and provide the strength of a stamp. The vertical positioning of the slotted joints 2 provides free removal of the forming of the shape of the stamp.

Figure 2 shows a General view of the closed stamp of figure 1, where the lower ejector made in the form of push core 5. At the end of the feeding core 5 in the lower part of figure 3, which provides the extrusion forming of the lower half of the stamp 4 across the bottom surface of the stamping without wrinkling.

Stamp works as follows.

The upper half of the stamp 1, driven by the press slide or Baba hammer, is in the lower half of the stamp 4, mounted on the press table or on the bottom plate of the hammer. The hot metal billet laid in figure 3 the lower half of the stamp 4, fills the shape of the stamp 3 and the excess metal is squeezed out in the compensator 2. Forging is ejected from the shape of the stamp lower ejector 5 1, or pushing the core 5 of figure 2. The expansion joints are cut simultaneously with p is oshiumi holes on the trim press.

The use of the proposed stamp figure 1, in contrast to the following analogue of [1], will allow to obtain a closed low forming on widespread commodity hardware and simplify the design of the stamp.

The use of push core 5 figure 2 gives the chance to stamp in the closed die forgings with thin elements, such as hubs, flanges, disks, without wrinkling, while pulling out the shape of the stamp.

SUBSTANCE: tool includes die with through round stepped hole having upper large-diameter step; punch mounted on slide of press and shaped part of knocking out member, both mounted with possibility of motion along axis of die. Tool also includes unit for stepwise regulation of bottom thickness and height of cup. Said unit includes clamping round stepped yoke secured to slide and embracing upper part of punch and also upper and lower spacing rings. Upper spacing ring is arranged between upper end of large-diameter step of yoke and press slide, lower spacing ring is arranged under shaped part of knocking out member. Upper step of die hole is cylindrical one, its diameter corresponds to outer diameter of yoke step turned downwards. Shaped part of knocking out member, upper and lower spacing rings are changeable ones.

SUBSTANCE: die set includes deforming unit with inlet and outlet ducts of the same rectangular cross section and ram. In first variant of invention deforming unit is in the form of two parts with crossing planes. Crossing planes of first part having grooves are connected with crossing planes of second part. Inlet and outlet ducts are restricted by said grooves and partially by crossing planes of second part. In second variant of invention deforming unit is in the form of two plates and two other parts. Thickness of each plate is equal to dimension of side of rectangular cross section of inlet and outlet ducts; each plate has two crossing planes. Said plates are mutually joined by means of two other parts according to condition of arrangement of two crossing planes of first plate opposite to two crossing planes of second plate. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming round cross section semi-finished product; embossing its surface for forming relief in the form of alternating protrusions and recesses and shaping curvilinear contour of said relief. Size of shaped contour corresponds to size of profile of ready part. Diameter of described circle passing through apexes of curvilinear protrusions is selected in range consisting of (1.15 - 1.35) of diameter of inscribed circle passing through apexes of recesses of part. Curvilinear contour of protrusions and recesses is shaped due to acting upon semi-finished product by means of shaping tool having profile of working surface in the form of curvilinear protrusions. The last have curvature radius with curvature centers spaced from part symmetry center by distance exceeding by 1.65-1.8 times distance from said symmetry center till curvature centers of curvilinear protrusions of part. Curvilinear recesses are alternated with curvilinear protrusions on working surface of shaping tool. Diameter of described circle passing through apexes of said recesses consists (1.15 - 1.35) of diameter of inscribed circle passing through apexes of curvilinear protrusions.

SUBSTANCE: die set includes bandage to which cone insert having four parts is pressed -in; lower support; inlet and outlet ducts of the same rectangular cross section; and ram. Parts of cone insert are made in such a way that they are defined by two mutually crossing planes and by portion of cone surface cut off by said planes. Rib formed by means of two mutually crossing planes in each part of cone insert is cut off by such a way that assembled parts of insert define inlet duct with three portions. Two portions have rectilinear walls; one portion has helical walls. The last portion is arranged between said portions with rectilinear walls. Outlet duct is restricted by lower support and by two adjacent parts of cone insert having grooves in its lower end.

Said member is joined with motion drive unit and it is mounted with possibility of introducing into additional through duct formed in slider. According to first variant of invention at initial position of slider its through duct is arranged in front of outlet duct. Slider may be shifter before starting pressing process by value exceeding size of through duct. According to second variant of invention through duct of slider is arranged in front of outlet duct in lower limit position of slider. Said cone-shape through duct of slider is closed by means of plug pressed-in to it.

Proposed tool contains die and punch holder with punch and knock-out with shaped part movable relative to die. Punch is enclosed by replaceable round holder with support flat and support surface. Die is provided with socket in upper part whose diameter corresponds to outer diameter of holder, and with support flat. Holder is installed for longitudinal displacement and engagement by its support flat and support surface with support flat of die and with punch holder, respectively. Shaped part of knock-out is made replaceable to provide possibility of making wheels of different type-sizes using one tool.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes two holders of upper and lower strikers having inclined surfaces. Said holders are kinematically coupled with two holders of lateral strikers having inclined surfaces corresponding to those of holders of upper and lower strikers. Four strikers are secured to respective holders by means of clamps and tightening studs. Each of upper and lower strikers has two working portions mutually divided by cutout. Each of lateral strikers has one working portion entering cutouts of upper and lower strikers. At least one adjusting plate is placed between holder of lower striker and lower striker. Lower striker is secured to its holder by means of two Г-shaped clamps. Inclined surfaces of said clamps are forced to inclined surfaces of holder of lower striker; riffled surfaces of said clamps are forced to two friction plates arranged on lateral surfaces of lower striker. Pins passing through openings of adjustment plates and entering openings of holder of lower striker are mounted in lower striker.

EFFECT: lowered cost of making tool, reduced time period for readjustment of it.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making blank, heating, hot pressing out of blank through die, heat treatment of shape. At pressing out blank is subjected in upper p[art of die to additional shearing deformations due to twisting it by angle in range 40 - 50° relative to axis of die. Die includes deforming cone, working rectangular collar and outlet zone. Deforming cone has two helical protrusions in the form of trapezium. Upper base of said trapezium is equal to length of rectangle of working collar; its lower base consists 1.5 - 2 of parts of said length value. Rotation angle of upper cross section of protrusion relative to its lower cross section is in range 40 - 50° relative to axis of die. In longitudinal cross section said protrusions are in the form of parabola.

SUBSTANCE: hard alloy matrix has casing, bushing pressed in the case and hard alloy insertion. Bushing has multifaced hole. Hard alloy insertion is composed by several sections made in form of trapezoidal-section prisms which have cut angles at their non-working edges. Number of sections corresponds to number of faces of item to be headed. Cuts of angles are made symmetrically to faces of working edge. Slits are made in several places of multifaced hole bushing at the ponts where faces cross each other.

SUBSTANCE: die set includes deforming punch, die with vertical parting, struts in the form of truncated pyramids having wedge-shaped slopes for mounting die; units for securing struts to supporting plate. According to first variant of invention contours of parts of cone insert are restricted by means of two mutually normal planes and cone surface portion cut by said planes. Inlet duct is formed by faces of cone insert parts arranged normally one relative to other and mutually joined; walls of said duct are in the form of portions of said planes. Faces of cone insert parts are mutually joined; inlet duct is formed by their radius surfaces and outlet duct is formed by radius grooves.
