The invention relates to agriculture, livestock, such as sheep, namely the allocation of wool fat, lanolin from the wool of sheep.

In the composition of the grease washed from sheep's wool contains wool fat, which is the product of secretion of sheep. Purified wool fat called lanolin.

The chemical composition of lanolin is complex, depends on the breed of sheep and conditions of their cultivation, method of producing wool fat.

Known methods for producing lanolin provide for the washing of wool with the use of aqueous solutions of surface-active substances. Wool fat has a very small polarity (ε=1,9-2,3). Therefore, it is highly soluble in non-polar, is not miscible with water, solvents such as hydrocarbon, with a low dielectric constant.

Lanolin, derived in the process of refining wool grease, must meet the stringent requirements of the medical and cosmetic industry.
