The invention relates to technology of polymers and the development of a composition of latex sealant designed to seal metal joints containers, particularly cans for food.

Famous pasta for sealing metal containers, comprising as film-forming base natural rubber latex, as a dispersant of trinacria phosphate, a mixture of polyethylene glycol ethers of mono - and dialkylphenols, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, kaolin, sodium benzoate, vulcanizer (-dithiocarbamate zinc, zinc oxide, sulfur), 2,2-methylene-bis-(4-methyl-6-tertbutylphenol) and water (A.S. No. 1509366 A1, Z. No. 4263266/23-05 from 15.06.87, publ. 23.09.89. Bul).

The composition and ratio of the components of this paste provides a film-forming ability in a thick layer, the viscosity of 40-60 with VZ-4, the adhesion to the tin 0,23-0,25 kg/cm2and the drying at a temperature of 60-80°15-20 minutes

The basis of the invention the task is to improve the known paste, composed of film-forming base, a dispersant, a mixture of polyethylene glycol ethers of mono - and dialkylphenols, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, kaolin, sodium benzoate, vulcanizer (-dithiocarbamate zinc, zinc oxide, sulfur and water by use as film-forming base synthetic latex content of dry is exist 48-55%, as the dispersant, sodium tripolyphosphate, exceptions, 2,2-methylene-bis-(4-methyl-6-tertbutylphenol), for more introduction, casein, ammonia, oleic acid, antifoam, pigments and fillers changing the quantitative ratio of the components, to provide latex sealant with high viscosity, improved uniformity, enhanced adhesion of the coating and reduce drying time, which will improve the quality of sealing of the container and to facilitate its application in modern high-speed equipment for applying sealer.

The solution of this problem is achieved by the fact that in the paste for sealing the metal container, comprising as film-forming base latex, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, a mixture of polyethylene glycol ethers of mono - and dialkylphenols, filler, sodium benzoate, vulcanizer, a dispersant and water, according to the invention as a film-forming base use synthetic latex with a solids content 48-55%, as filler kaolin, as a dispersant is sodium tripolyphosphate and additionally casein, ammonia, oleic acid, antifoam and pigment-filler in the following ratio of components, parts by weight:

The technical result of the invention is that when used in the composition of the sealant latex synthetic latex with a solids content 48-55% decrease in drying time with 15-20 min (the prototype) to 5-6 min, the introduction of the sealer in a certain ratio of casein, ammonia, defoamer, pigment-filler and sodium tripolyphosphate provides uniformity of coating, increases the viscosity of 40-60 with VZ-4 (prototype) 120-140 with and improves adhesion to tin from 0.23-0.25 kg/cm2(the prototype) to 0.30-0.33 kg/cm2.

Reducing the drying time of latex sealant is increasing viscosity allows its use in modern high-speed equipment for applying sealer to seal tin cans, and improving the uniformity of the coating and improve the adhesion provides a high quality seal metal joints.

Seal latex is prepared as follows.

In the capacity load pigment-filler (titanium oxide and omyacarb in the ratio 1:2), a mixture of polyethylene glycol ethers of mono - and dialkylphenols (SAS), sodium tripolyphosphate, oleic acid, vulcanizer (a mixture of sulfur, zinc oxide and dithiocarbamate zinc in equal parts) and 69.7% of the total amount of water, mechanically stirred while heating to 45°and in a few tricks add kaolin, after which the mixture fray on kratkotrajni machine.

In another container load latex, antifoam (55% solution of silicone defoamers 131-85 THE 6-02-584-75 and 139-104 THE 6-02-1040-76 in equal parts in mineral spirit) and pre-cooked solution mixture of ammonia with casein in the ratio of 1:1 with the addition of 2.1% of the total amount of water mechanically stirred at a temperature of up to 45°then add ground mixture and 12% aqueous solution of sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose. The obtained mixture mix it thoroughly within 2 hours.

When used in the production of sealer latex synthetic latex with a solids content of 47% and less seal is obtained with a viscosity of less than 120 C. When using this sealer for applying high-speed equipment is spray sealer, which leads to the formation of uneven coating, in consequence of which it deteriorates the quality of the sealing metal joints.

When used in the production of sealer latex synthetic latex with a solids content of 56% or more seal is obtained with a viscosity of more than 140 C. When applying the sealer with a viscosity of more than 140 high-speed equipment seal fails evenly distributed on the surface that leads to the formation of a lumpy uneven coating, resulting in deteriorating the sealing metal joints.
