FIELD: keratin fiber protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to employment of enteric and contact poisons (insecticides) against keratophages to protect wool, silk, hair, feathers, and skin. In particular, in a known method comprising impregnation of wool, silk, hair, feathers, and skin with dildrin or endrin solution, impregnation operation is preceded by preliminary treatment of indicated materials with alcoholic or acetone solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane followed by air drying and heat treatment at 80-100°C for 10-20 min.

EFFECT: imparted resistance against keratophages.

The invention relates to the field of application of the intestinal and contact poisons for ceratapion - insecticides and can be used to protect wool (silk, hair, feathers, skin).

Currently, for the protection of wool are widely used unusually strong insecticides multilateral action - dieldrin and its isomer endrin (M Wipson, R.Y. Hope, Proc. Int. Wool Of Those. Res. Conf., Australia, 1955, 599; C.S.I.R.O. Australia, Wool Textile Reseazch Labs., Trade Circular, 1956, p.2).

There are ways to protect wool (silk, hair, feathers, skin) from ceratapion not properly secured to dieldrin and endrin on the surface of the fibers of these materials.

The known method consists in impregnating wool with a solution or emulsion of dieldrin, followed by drying, in which dieldrin penetrates from a solution or emulsion coat, swollen from steeping in water. After drying wool dieldrin difficult to remove the solvents normally used for dry cleaning, as these solvents coat does not swell (Lcolor, Chemicals in household and industry. Chemistry, Leningrad div., 1969, p.113).

However, the existing method of processing wool is not possible to reliably fix dieldrin on the surface of wool fibers, as dieldrin can be extracted from the wool of hot methyl alcohol or acetone; it is gradually removed from the hair when popcorn the x-washing in soap solutions. Therefore, dieldrin used for impregnation of such woolen fabrics, which are subjected to a dry clean only and rarely wash; often for washable items, such as linen and other wool products, it is not recommended.

The aim of the present invention is to make wool (silk, hair, feathers, skin) resistance to ceratophorum.

This goal is achieved by our proposed method, including pre-impregnated with a solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, drying at room temperature and heat treated at 80-100°C for 10-20 minutes followed by impregnation with alcohol or acetone solution or emulsion of dieldrin or endrin, drying at room temperature and heat treated at 80-100°C for 10-20 minutes 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, dieldrin or endrin used as an alcohol or acetone solution. While alcohol or acetone solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane used in the amount of 0.07 to 0.1 percent by weight wool, silk, hair, feathers, skin, or alcohol or acetone solution of dieldrin use in the amount of 0.03 to 0.05% by weight of wool, silk, hair, feathers, skin, and alcohol or acetone solution endrin is used in the amount of 0,05-0,07% by weight of wool, silk, hair, feathers, skin.

Impregnation with a solution of dieldrin or endrin wool fibers previously about Botanik 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, achieving chemical binding of dieldrin or endrin through their interaction with the amino group of 3-aminosilicones of fragmen kremnijorganicheskogo compound that is chemically linked to the surface of the fiber through siloxanes of fragmen (Scheme 1).

The result: the hair after treatment according to the new method has no smell, and its physical and chemical properties remain unchanged; dieldrin or endrin is not extracted from the wool with hot methanol or acetone; dieldrin or endrin does not go with the wool even after 17-20 washing in soap solutions.

Example 1. Wool fibres, washed from wool grease, and dried at room temperature, are sprayed from the spray alcohol or acetone solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane in the number of 0,07-0,1% (mass.) by weight of wool; fibers are dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 100°C for 10 minutes

Modified fibers are sprayed from the spray alcohol or acetone solution of dieldrin in the amount of 0.03% (mass.) or endrin in the amount of 0.05% (mass.) by weight of wool; fibers are dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment p and 100° C for 10 minutes

Example 2. Silk fibers are sprayed from the spray alcohol or acetone solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane in the number of 0,07-0,1% (mass.) the weight of the silk fibers are dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 100°C for 10 minutes

Modified fibers are sprayed from the spray alcohol or acetone solution of dieldrin in the amount of 0.03% (mass.) or endrin in the amount of 0.05% (mass.) the weight of the silk fibers are dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 100°C for 10 minutes

Hair washed from wool grease, and dried at room temperature, is sprayed from the spray of alcohol or acetone solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane in the number of 0,07-0,1% (mass.) the weight of the hair; the hair is dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 100°C for 10 minutes

Example 4. Feathers are sprayed from the spray alcohol or ACET the new solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane in the number of 0,07-0,1% (mass.) the weight of the feathers; feathers are dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 100°C for 10 minutes

Modified feathers sprayed from the spray alcohol or acetone solution of dieldrin in the amount of 0.03% (mass.) or endrin in the amount of 0.05% (mass.) the weight of the feathers; the feathers are dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 100°C for 10 minutes

Example 5. The leather. purified from dirt, sprayed from the spray alcohol solution of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane in the number of 0,07-0,1% (mass.) the weight of the skin; the skin is dried in air at room temperature and subjected to heat treatment at 80°C for 20 minutes

The use of the proposed method of protection of wool (silk, hair, feathers, skin) provides in comparison with existing methods the following benefits:

- wool fibers (silk, hair, feathers, skin) no smell, and their physical and chemical properties remain unchanged;

- achieved the chemical binding of dieldrin or ndrina with the surface of the fibers;

- dieldrin or endrin is not extracted from the fibers with hot methyl alcohol or acetone;

- dieldrin or endrin does not leave the wool fibers (silk, hair, feathers, skin) even after 17-20 washing in soap solutions.

Textile materials, including textile museum exhibits, are impregnated with solution of biocidal alkoxysiloxane derivative of 3,6-dichloro-2(4-hydroxyphenoxy)pyridine in organic solvent or aqueous emulsion. Material is then dried at 140-150°C for 3-5 min or kept at ambient temperature for 24 h. Impregnation with above solutions is conducted in presence of γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane.

EFFECT: imparted moisture-resistant bioprotective properties to textile materials made from various fibers, including colored fibers.
