Method of preparation of sorbent for cleaning gases from hydrogen sulfide

FIELD: preparation of sorbent for cleaning gases from hydrogen sulfides; cleaning associated petroleum gas and natural gas from hydrogen sulfides at addition of oxygen (air) to gases to be cleaned; cleaning of air from hydrogen sulfides.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method of preparation of sorbent on base of activated carbon includes determination of moisture content of starting activated carbon and its moisture-holding capacity. Then impregnating aqueous solution is prepared for application of promoters on starting activated carbon; impregnating solution contains 0.5-3.5 mass-% of potassium iodide of mass of starting activated carbon and monoethanolamine in the amount of 0.035-0.075 mass-% of mass of starting activated carbon is added additionally. Amount of water used for preparation of impregnating solution depends on mass of activated carbon and its moisture-holding capacity minus moisture content of starting activated carbon. Activated carbon thus impregnated is dried.

EFFECT: enhanced economical efficiency due to increased catalytic activity and sulfur-absorption capacity of sorbent.
