Ultrasonic diagnosis method for diagnosing tumors and tumor-like orbit diseases

SUBSTANCE: method involves examining eyeball and retrobulbary space by means of ultrasonic scanner. Ultrasonic gray scale orbit scanning is applied in real-time mode to determine ultrasonic eye reposition. Positive ultrasonic eye reposition is determined and normal state is diagnosed when recording mobile unchanged shape and free oscillation orbit tissue movements. Changes in shape, contours and size of the eyeball and immobility of orbit tissues being recorded, negative ultrasonic reposition is determined and solid full-tissue neoplasms and structures are diagnosed to occur.

The invention relates to medicine, in particular for ultrasonic diagnosis, can be used in complex diagnostics of tumors and tumor-like diseases of the orbit. Designed to improve accurate diagnosis of orbital tumors.

There is a method of ultrasonic diagnosis in diseases of the orbit determination ultrasonic reposition using one-dimensional ultrasonography (outside VA, Ultrasound diagnosis in diseases of the orbit, journal of ophthalmology, No. 2, M, 1972, p.52-56), taken as a prototype.

In the described method the study was conducted twice, with a simple contact of the sensor with eyeball and after pressing on it. In the study of healthy orbits in A-mode was positive ultrasound reposition, due to the fact that the fabric of the orbit is heterogeneous and causes a chain of successive peaks, which are easily compressed when the pressure sensor on the eyeball. However, there is a noticeable shortening of the orbital echogram after reposition eyes. Completely different echographic pattern is observed in the presence of any abnormal formation in orbit. The author noted a negative ultrasound reposition the presence of various dense formations in orbit (glioma, meningioma, pseudotumor hemangioma), after reposition seen a sharp decrease in the amplitude of the echo signals for the rear wall of the eye, low final peak, their stability, immobility. However, these studies are very long. In addition, the information received by the echo is not objective.

To improve the objectivity of the obtained information and reduce the time of diagnosis is proposed a method of ultrasonic diagnostics of tumors and tumor-like diseases of the orbit, including the study of the eyeball and the retro-bulbar space, determination of ultrasonic reposition the eye, characterized in that hold the gray-scale scan of the orbit in real time and detect ultrasonic reposition eye registration motility, shape, contour and dimensions of the eyeball, free oscillatory movements of the tissues of the orbit; and upon registration of the mobile unmodified forms and sizes with a clear outline of the eyeball and in the presence of free oscillations of orbital tissues determine positive ultrasound reposition the eye and diagnose the norm; when you register changes in the shape, contour and dimensions of the eyeball and the stillness of the orbital tissues determine negative ultrasound reposition the eye and diagnose planetone, solid type of education and patterns.

<> The proposed method allows to carry out ultrasonic diagnosis of orbital tumors depending on the structure of education, thereby helping to improve the efficiency and accuracy of diagnosis.

The method is as follows.

Diagnosis is carried out with use of ultrasonic systems with different combinations of modes. Apply transpalpebral method of scanning retro-bulbar space using electronic linear sensor with an operating frequency of 7.5 MHz.

Mode gray scale real-time scan the eyeball and the retro-bulbar space. Visualize normal anatomical structures. After pressing the sensor on the eyeball register the change of mobility, shape, size of the eyeball and determines ultrasonic reposition. Normal eyeball movably, the size does not change, freely shifted in the retro-bulbar space. We have performed an ultrasound method proposed in 23 patients with tumors of the orbit. The results of ULTRASONIC diagnosis were compared with data from a comprehensive ophthalmic examination, computed tomography and the results of morphological studies.

In all cases, when gray-scale ultrasound scanning in the area of the orbit was determined neoplasms of different localization, sizes and different morphological structures. Ultrasonic reposition eyes changed from positive to negative, which is presented in the table.

Thus, the application of the proposed method helps to increase the objectivity of the information received, to reduce research time and improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis of orbital tumors.

Area of zone proximally located 3-4 cm far from lesion region. Asymmetry coefficient is determined as ratio of the values. Ampoule-like enlarged, hypoechogenic formation having partially disturbed inhomogeneous heterogeneous structure 1.7 times greater than proximal zone area being found within this period, intensive nerve trunk connective tissue elements proliferation and intratrunk neuroma is proved to be the case.

EFFECT: high accuracy in determining nerve injury degree; enhanced effectiveness in controlling postoperative nerve fiber recovery.

SUBSTANCE: method involves recording middle uterus echo and endometrium volume. Uterus body volume is additionally determined and endometrium volume to uterus body volume ratio index (EV/UV) is calculated. The index values within 5 to 10% are thought to be norm for reproductive age women. The EV/UV value being between 10 and 19%, the women are thought to belong to risk group and ultrasonic control is advised for being carried out within 1 year. The value being between 19 and 40%, it is advised to the female patients to pass through diagnostic endometrectomy procedure and carry out histological examination. The value being between 13 to 35% corresponding to endometrium hyperplasia, it is advised to the female patient group to pass through diagnostic endometrectomy procedure and then to carry out histological examination. The value being greater than 35%, treatment in an oncological clinical center is recommended.

EFFECT: high reliability and accuracy of diagnosis.
