SUBSTANCE: friction article comprises indicator of wearing mounted on the side of the article and made of hollow and projection. The indicator comprises at least two surfaces one of which is a wall and the other one is a flat surface. The plane of the flat surface of the indicator is nonparallel to the plane of the side surface of the article.

The invention relates to equipped with visual signs of wear, friction products, designed for operation in different friction mechanisms (brake units of machinery and equipment, couplings, and so on).

Analogous to the claimed invention is a friction article containing a wear indicator in the form of the metal bracket with the wear judged by the distance between the free end of the bracket and the counterbody. The lack of similar design is the complexity of the indicator requiring a special device and its installation, that is not always possible to brake the node.

The prototype of the claimed invention is a friction article containing a wear indicator located on the side surface and including at least two surfaces, one of which is a wall, placed vertically against the side surface and the other flat surface, the plane of which is parallel to the plane of the lateral surface (utility model of the Russian Federation No. 28211, IPC 7 F 16 D 69/00, 2003). The essential features of the prototype “frictionlessly, the wear indicator located on the side surface of a product made in the form of recesses or protrusions, comprising at least two surfaces, one of which is a wall coincide with the essential features of the claimed invention.

The disadvantage of the prototype is the lack of visually perceptible indicator as the side and top of the product due to the parallelism of the planes of the side surface and the surface of the indicator, but also because of the vertical location of the wall and a lateral surface, resulting in lateral projection of the product, and when viewed from above, the indicator becomes a line.

The challenge which seeks the invention is to improve the visual distinctiveness of the indicator when viewed from the side surface of the product and inspection of product at the top.

To achieve the technical result in friction product, containing a wear indicator located on the side surface of a product made in the form of a recess or protrusion, and including at least two surfaces, one of which is a wall, the other surface of the indicator is not flat, but a wall is placed vertically against the side surface of the product.

Friction product is a polymer composite friction element made of a polymer composite having a polymer matrix (rubber vulcanizer, reset resins, mixtures thereof, etc.), disperse fillers (mineral, metal and others) and, if necessary, fibrous fillers (asbestos, polyaramid threads fibers, mineral fibers, and so on). Fillers may be included in the item individually or as mixtures. The friction element can be, if necessary, fixed on a metal or other frame. Usually the friction element has an active surface (i.e. the surface coming into frictional contact with the counterbody and the surface on which the impact force which presses the friction element to the counterbody (pressure surface)and the side surface (surface), combining the work surface and a pressure surface. As a rule, the side surface easily observed during operation and it is usually made is n to the wear indicators. However, in some cases easily observed is the working surface of the product. The wear indicator in the form of protrusion or depression on the lateral surface of the product and may have different shapes. Area combination surface of the indicator and the side surface (the so-called “wall”) specifies the minimum allowable value of the residual thickness of the product as a result of wear and tear. When the product of the residual thickness, in which the wall opens onto the working surface, the product should be discontinued and the product must be replaced. Figure 7 presents another concrete example of the claimed invention - pad disk brake of a car. The pad is made in the form of a flat friction element (pads), fixed on a metal frame. The bar has a working surface 1, the side surface 2 and a push surface 3 opposite working the th. The working surface when the braking contact with the counterbody (brake disc).
