Method for keeping of plants during cold period of year

FIELD: forestry, in particular, keeping of plants with closed root system during cold periods of year, for example, plants grown in containers or seedlings.

SUBSTANCE: method involves placing containers 5 with plants 4 at place 1 above heating main 2; providing covering 4 above containers 5; filling space between covering wall 3 and containers 5 with bulk material 6 with increased moisture capacity (for example, peat or compost); moistening material 6 and mellowing top layer 7 of said material. During heating season, part of heat is transferred from heating main 2 to ground surface. Moistened peat layer 6 has increased moisture capacity to provide for effective heating of containers 5. Mellowed layer 7 eliminates moisture and heat transfer from layer 6. Moisture stock in layer 6 provides optimal soil moisture in containers to be maintained. When necessary, layer 6 is periodically moistened and layer 7 is mellowed. Covering 3 and layers 6 and 7 of peat reduce heat losses from heating main 2 during the entire heating season. Upon completion of cold period, containers 5 with plants 4 are moved to territory to be landscaped.

EFFECT: reliable storage of plants, reduced costs for earth excavation works and heating of storage, provision for keeping soil moisture capacity in containers within optimal range, and reduced heat losses at heating mains.

The invention relates to the field of forestry and may find application when stored in the cold season plants with closed root system, including those grown in containers. There is a method of storage in the cold season heat-loving plants, including placing them in a special greenhouse, which support optimal for these plants temperature and soil moisture. (U.S. Pat. U.S. No. 6314834, MCI And 01 G 9/02, inventions abroad, issue 1, No. 22, 2001) the Disadvantage of this method is the high cost of these greenhouses and large expenditure of energy to maintain optimum soil temperature.

There is also known a method of storage in the cold heat-loving plants, including the installation of over the plants portable shelters and heating them due to the heat the deep layers of the soil by placing below the surface of the soil (application WO No. 115516, MCI And 01 G 9/00, inventions abroad, issue 1, No. 05, 2002). This method is adopted as a prototype. The disadvantage of this method is the low efficiency of heating of the soil during the long winter with low temperatures, since the heat transfer from the deeper layers of the soil is slower than may decrease the temperature of air and soil in the area of the root system of the plants. It should be noted that long-term decrease in temperature is acwy in this zone below 10° with may cause damage to the root system and loss of heat-loving plants. In addition, a device such storage requires allocation of land and the significant volume of earthworks. During storage, the root layer soil dries, which increases the risk of damage to the root system by the cold.

The present invention eliminates these drawbacks.

The essence of the proposal is that according to the method of storage plants with closed root system, including the protection of their portable shelters and heating due to the heat of the soil, plants are placed above the underground heating mains, while the space between the root system of the plants and walls of the shelter fill absorbent granular material, which is periodically moistened, and the top layer should be kept loose.

Raising the technical level of the storage plants with closed root system, is that the placement of the plants above the underground heating in combination with the filling of the space between the closed root system and walls of the shelter bulk material, which is periodically moisturize, and maintain its upper layer in a friable condition improves the efficiency of heating through the use of heat losses heating and save it with odnovremenno maintaining optimum levels of soil moisture in the zone of the root system of a plant.

The essence of the proposal is illustrated by a drawing, in which figure 1 presents a General view of the host plants with closed root system above the underground heating, and Fig. 2 placement of the plants from over heating, view A-A. This method of storage can be used for storage of ornamental perennial plants grown in containers, as well as plants, dug in the fall for spring planting, the root system which is protected by any known method, for example a collapsible container or film material.

The implementation of the method of storage plants with closed root system is carried out in the following sequence.

At site 1 over heating 2 install portable shelter 3 in which host plants 4, the root system which is closed containers 5, the space between the container 5 and the walls of the shelter 3 is filled with a granular absorbent material 6, this material is moistened to 50-55% HB, and the upper layer 7 is loosened. As absorbent granular material 6 can be used peat or humus.

During the heating season, a part of heat from the heating line 2 rises to the ground surface. Moistened peat layer 6 has a high heat capacity and provides heat accumulation and effective heating of the containers 5. This soft layer 7 prevents the loss of VL is GI and heat from the layer 6. Water storage in layer 6 maintain soil moisture in the container 5. The humidity of the material 6 is maintained within the range of 50-55% HB, producing periodic wetting. This humidity level, on the one hand, prevents drying of the root system, and on the other, prevents rotting. After moistening of the material 6 of the upper layer 7 is loosened for the destruction of the capillary pores and reduce the loss of moisture and heat. The presence of the cover 3 and layers of peat 6 and 7 reduces heat loss by heating 2 during the entire heating season. After the end of the cold period, the containers 5 with perennial ornamental plants 4 move to plant for the territory, and seedlings with closed root system free from collapsible containers and planted in the soil. Portable shelters 3 is removed and the peat or compost is used to fertilize the soil for lawns or stacked in piles until the next season.

Thus, the application of the proposed method of storage plants with closed root system helps provide a more reliable storage plants, storage and use land over heating related to the areas of limited use, excluded the financial costs of carrying out earthworks for text storage and heat storage, the moisture content of the soil in the containers is maintained in optimal is different limits in addition, it reduces heat loss by the heat.

The storage of the plants in the cold period of the year, including the heating of the root system water is supplied through pipes laid under the ground, and moistening it, characterized in that the root system of pre-protect containers that are placed above the underground heating system and served a portable shelter, while the space between the root system and the walls of the shelter fill absorbent granular material, the top layer of which is supported in a friable condition.

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, cultivation of flowers, vegetables, decorative and tropical plants under home conditions.

SUBSTANCE: compact chamber is composed of at least two parts, that is, bath, extension rings-inserts, hood, and pan. Pan is placed into bath, ground is spilled, sown, watered and covered with hood. Said parts are secured to one another by adhesive tape. Compact chamber may have cylindrical or square volume of enclosure vessel subdivided into at least three main parts: lower part with bath for receiving of soil or other nutritive mixture, extension rings-inserts, and upper part with hood for creating closed space, wherein permanent humidity is maintained for creating advantageous conditions for plant growing. In case space is to be increased in vertical direction, ring-insert is positioned between bath and hood. For plant illumination, in case natural illumination is insufficient, lighting device is inserted into hood throat and switched to regulated pulse-duration power unit controlled from automatic program relay, which is turned-on and turned-off in accordance with set season, solar cycle, established at starting time by means of switches. Heating, air and moisture modes are regulated by means of vent windows defined by notches-depressions formed on vessel surface. Vent windows may be removed when necessary. Vent windows may be closed and opened by means of small windows set for predetermined threshold temperature values and automatically controlled by bimetal effect, and in case of necessity, heating system is switched on.

EFFECT: simplified and convenient maintenance, improved development of plants and reliable scientific results, when used in laboratory conditions.
