The technical result - the connection is very effective in combating damaging the wood by fungi, especially basidiomycetes fungi that cause rot and sapstain fungi that spoil the appearance of the wood. table 2.

The scope of the invention

This invention relates to the protection of wood.

In WO 96/36615 and 97/00612 describes the various cyclic urea as fungicides to control plant diseases.

We have found that a certain group of compounds is very effective in combating damaging the wood by fungi and especially basidiomycete fungi that cause rot and sapstain fungi that spoil the appearance of the wood.

The invention thus provides the use to combat damaging the wood by fungi of the compounds of formula I

in which R represents

1-4-alkyl, C1-4-alkoxy, trifluoromethyl or halogen and n is number from 0 to 3.

Examples of fungi that can be treated using compounds of formula I include Coriolus versicolor, Poria placenta, Lentinus lepideus, Trametes versicolor, Serpula lacrymans, Coniophora puteana and Gloeophyllum trabeum.

In General, cause timber decay fungi appear as complexes of two or more of these types.

We also found that the compound of the formula I are particularly effective when used in combination with other fungicides for wood, such as fluquinconazole, tebuconazole, Dylan, carbendazim, prochloraz, ipconazole and tsyprokonazolu.

The compounds of formula I can be applied in a suitable normally liquid ready preparative form, usually containing surfactants and other conventional additives, and usually after dilution with water. The concentration may vary within a wide range, for example, from 0.001 to 10%, preferably from 0.1 to 1 wt.%.

The invention is illustrated by the following examples.

Example 1

Test in vivo activity against wood destroying fungi

10 cm unedged boards sawn pine was cut into segments of length 20 cm Each the each treatment used 3 replicate.

Each replica was treated separately, but the same solution of the test compounds for processing. A whole stack of 6 boards were immersed in the test solution, and 1 cm longitudinal strip left bright. Boards slightly separated from each other, to allow free movement of working solution between them. The processing time was approximately 10 seconds, after which the boards were removed from the treatment solution, the excess liquid was allowed to drain and the boards were placed in a polyethylene bag. This bag had a small hole on the back side, to allow removal of excess fluid, but allow to maintain high humidity.

Placed in bags boards were kept in the greenhouse at 18°C with natural daylight. Stacks kept in a single layer and not in the form of stacks. Stack periodically turned to ensure possible constant moisture content within the boards.

The evaluation was made 5 weeks after treatment. For each replicate adjacent the front side of the adjacent boards were evaluated visually in % infection of the sapstain fungi, % surface boards, covered with colonies of the basidiomycete and % of the surface of the cat. The magnitude of suppression in % was calculated on the basis of the levels of infection untreated boards.

Compound for the treatment consisted of 10 EU compound a (example 59 WO 9636615), diluted to the desired concentration.

For comparison used industrial supply product Evotek (23% suspoemulsions of prochloraz and carbendazim).

The resulting rezultaty are given in table. 1.

You can see that the connection provides excellent suppression of sapstain fungi and blackish mould, comparable to Evotek, but it also suppresses the basidiomycetes unlike Evotek. It is unusual to observe such activity against the full set pathogenic for wood fungi.

Example 2

Test in vitro activity against wood destroying fungi

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of building materials industry, mainly, to production and application of the furan polymeric compound permeated timber-based materials. The

offered timber-based material is permeated with the solution of the polymerized monomer of the furfural alcohol consisting of the furfuryl alcohol and one additional compound dissolved directly in the indicated furfuryl alcohol to produce the treating solution. At that the indicated additional compound is chosen from the maleic anhydride and the phthalic anhydride. The invention also presents the method of production of the timber-based material permeated with the furan polymeric compound and the way of its application. The technical result of the invention ensures, that the timber-based material permeated with the furan polymeric compound is homogeneous in color and density in the whole treated zone.
