Anti-icing composition

 

Use: for the prevention and removal of ice formations, as well as for melting snow on all kinds of surfaces, including roads and building structures. The composition comprises, in wt.%: formate sodium 85-95, urea 4-10, potassium carbonate 1-5. The composition may further contain river sand at a ratio of mixture of salts and river sand 1:5 to 1:3. The composition may further contain a water content of the mixture of salts in a concentration of 15-30%. Technical result: the composition has a low temperature eutectic (-35oC), provides long-term prevention of ice formation, reduced consumption means for melting snow and ice, well transported, has a long shelf life and does not cause environmental pollution. 4 C.p. f-crystals, 1 Il.

The invention relates to de-icing means that resolves when applying the icing, and ensures the melting of the snow on all kinds of surfaces, including roads and building structures.

There are many Russian and foreign patents, aimed at solving this problem, which describes the different compositions, both solid and liquid, containing carbamide (urea) with the amide, the chlorides of sodium and calcium and hydroxyl-containing compound is a homopolymer of ethylene oxide.

Known anti-icing composition comprising urea and a mixture of the chlorides of sodium and potassium, in which sodium chloride is 1 to 3 parts of potassium chloride (U.S. patent 4512907, 23.04.1985).

Known anti-icing composition comprising 4-99,5% ammonium carbamate, 0.5 to 96% of urea in granular form. The composition may contain sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide or silicate.

In U.S. patent 5599475, 04.02.1997, describes a composition comprising urea, chloride, abrasive and absorbent.

In the patent of England 1070169 describes a composition containing 10-45% urea, 55-90% of ammonium nitrate, water-soluble phosphates, chromates, carbonates.

The presence of chlorides cause corrosion and has an adverse impact on the environment.

In U.S. patent 4855071 describes aqueous solution of alkaline earth carboxylates or alkaline metals.

In U.S. patent 4448702 there is information that the mixture of urea with formate or acetate of an alkali metal is ineffective for removing ice.

Known means for thawing of snow and ice containing polycarboxylic acid, a water-soluble formate and/or alkaline acetates of ammonia and/or alkali metal (patent Germany 4034217).

In U.S. patent 4254166, 03.03.1981 described composition for reducing the strength of ice containing 5-90% of water-soluble alcohols, diols, polyols, ketones, carboxylic acids or their salts and 1-20% of organic or inorganic compounds containing ammonium ion, representing the acetate, nitrate, sulfate, formate, carbonate, pentaborate ammonium or a mixture thereof.

Known anti-icing composition in the form of an aqueous solution containing 45-60% alkali carboxylate is acetate and/or formate, 0.1 to 0.4% alkaline phosphate, 0.2 to 0.6% of alkali nitrite and having a pH of 9.5 to 11.2 (U.S. patent 5064551, 12.11.1991). The disadvantage of the composition is the content of nitrite and lack of effectiveness at temperatures below 20oC.

Thus, in the patent of the Russian Federation 2123022 described method of obtaining a de-icing compositions on the basis of urea, calcium nitrate, magnesium nitrate and water. This composition provides the removal of ice and snow melting at a temperature not lower than the 22oC. furthermore, the method of obtaining this composition is quite complex, multistage and requires high technical equipment in its implementation.

In the patent of the Russian Federation 2130958 C1 described anti-icing composition based on calcium nitrate, urea, magnesium nitrate, calcium phosphate, carbamide metals (up to 0.03 mm/ year). Eutectic temperature of the product just 17oC.

In the patent of the Russian Federation 2135540 C1 reported anti-icing compositions containing sodium chloride and sodium carboxylates, which are represented by sodium formate and glycolate sodium. The composition is characterized by low corrosional activity, low toxicity. The freezing point of an aqueous solution it from -24 to -18oC.

Composition for preventing ice on the roads specified in the patent of the Russian Federation 2127293 C1 includes sodium formate and/or sodium acetate, formate and/or acetate calcium. As salts can be recycled pentaerythritol, product of the manufacture of acetic acid, and hydroxyethyl cellulose and/or concentrate sulphite yeast brew. This structure reduces the temperature of ice formation (-18o(C) that is not always sufficient. In addition, the composition has many components, which are not convenient in transportation (mash). Known for the same purpose, containing magnesium chloride and/or carnelli and salt of the organic low-molecular acid-alkali and/or alkaline-earth metal, in particular formate and/or sodium acetate and/or calcium (see RF patent 2141500 S1). The composition prevents the formation of ice on the political risk funds. In the prior art described means for removing ice on the basis of acetate and/or formate (see RF patent 2172332 S1). The tool has a strong property to ensure the melting of ice and snow. However, the patent cannot determine the temperature of the eutectic means that it is not possible to analyze the claimed technical solution with regard to this source.

Closest to the claimed composition according to the achieved result is a remedy for the patent of the Russian Federation 2169751. Known means as claimed include urea (carbamide). In addition, it contains calcium chloride and corrosion inhibitor. The composition has a low crystallization temperature (-50oC). However, the presence of corrosion inhibitors is complicated by the receiving means and increases its cost. In the patent it is noted that the proposed structure does not damage the trees, because the experiments on the effect of composition on the seeds showed its toxicity. However, the presence in the composition of calcium chloride with repeated use of the composition inevitably leads to the accumulation of chlorine in the soil and pollute it with consequent damage to green spaces and other environmental violations (ingress into the sewers to collect wastewater leads is DSTV, not expensive, with a simple way to obtain a low temperature eutectic (-35o(C) providing long-term prevention of ice formation that does not require a large amount of melting snow and ice, well conveyed, with a long shelf life and do not cause environmental pollution.

This technical result is achieved by the fact that well-known anti-icing composition comprising urea, further comprises sodium formate and potassium carbonate in the following ratio, wt.%: Formate sodium - 85-95 Urea - 4-10 potash - 1-5 the Composition may further contain river sand in the following ratio of the mixture of salts and river sand 1:5-1:3.

The composition may further contain water at the following concentrations of the mixture of salts in water 15-30%.

Anti-icing composition was prepared by mixing the solid and liquid components. To obtain an aqueous solution of the composition it is necessary to take such a quantity of the mixture of salts, as well as the amount of water that they ensured solution with a concentration of a mixture of salts of the composition in water, equal to 15-30%.

The composition ensures the melting of ice and snow as when applied to the surface directly only a mixture of salts, when applied to the surface of the mixture of salts with sand, and when applied to the surface of the aqueous composition. We have found that the most preferred is a coating on the surface of the mixture of the inventive anti-icing composition to the sand.

It is established that the composition provides for its application to the melting of snow and ice to a depth equal to the thickness of snow or ice cover up to 10 cm it was found that the composition prevents re-formation of ice or snow for at least 24 hours. Antegrade action of the composition is observed at an ambient temperature up to -35oC. This temperature is sufficiently low for most regions of Russia.

Tests have shown that the proposed composition has low corrosiveness. It does not cause damages is CVE or are metabolized by soil bacteria.

The reagent is easy to obtain, well transported, can be stored for 1-2 years.

We have tested samples of the composition, the composition of which differed in the ratio of ingredients (see drawing).

Example 1.

The proposed composition comprises a mixture of sodium formate, urea, potash, taken in the following ratio, wt.%: Formate sodium - 85 Urea - 10 potash - 5 Before use, the mixture of salts was mixed with river sand in a ratio of 1: 4 and threw in a quantity of 500 g/m2on the site of the road surface, having a thickness of ice 3-8 see the Area of the treated surface to 50 m2. Ambient air temperature was equal to (-12) - (-15)oC. the Ice on the surface of the melted within 1-2 hours throughout the entire thickness of the layer. Inspection of the surface after the day did not reveal the fact of formation of the ice cover.

Example 2.

The compositions contain water at a concentration of salts in the composition is 20%. The ratio of ingredients of the composition was the same as in example 1. The method of the roadway covering slipperiness prevention provides for application of a roadway ice covering suppressing reactant based on acetate, in the capacity of which use a solution with pH=7-9.5, containing components in the following ratio (in mass %): magnesium acetate 13-17, potassium acetate 8-16, potassium hydrocarbonate 5-8, potassium carbonate 2-6, water-insoluble impurities 0-6, water - the rest. The roadway ice covering suppressing reactant may additionally contain a fired limestone in amount of 3-5 mass % in terms of calcium oxide. The method of production a roadway ice cover suppressing reactant for a roadway covering slipperiness prevention provides for mixing of a component containing a magnesium compound, iced acetic acid and water, in the capacity of the component containing the magnesium compound is used brucite, the stirring is exercised in two stages: first they continuously agitate brucite with water and a part of iced acetic acid in a stoichiometric ratio at the temperature of 50-70°C within 50-80 minutes, then, not terminating mixing at the same temperature in the produced mix with pH=5-6 add the rest of ice acetic acid and then add potash in amount exceeding by 0.1 - 6 % the stoichiometric ratio and continue agitation till production of the roadway ice cover suppressing reactant - a solution with pH = 7-9.5 with the above indicated composition. The used roadway ice cover suppressing reactant has composition mentioned above. The technical result consists in - maintenance of the low temperature at the reactant usage, ensuring the passing ice covered roadways motor vehicles metal corrosion protection and at use as the airfield runways coatings - the corrosion protection of metals used in aircraft designs as well. The roadway coating treated with the reactant has a high coefficient of adhesion, that reduces the accident rate on the roadways.

EFFECT: the invention ensures, that the roadway coating treated with the reactant decreases the accident rate on the roadways.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparations used for prevention and removal of snow-ice formations in roads. An anti-glaze of ice preparation comprises the following components, wt.-%: calcium chloride, 15-50; sodium chloride, 48.5-83.5; potassium ferricyanide, 0.2-0.5, and sodium dihydrogen phosphate, 0.3-1.0. Anti-glaze of ice preparation in granulated form is resistant against caking, inhibits corrosion of metals and reduces inhibitory effect of chloride on plants.

The composite comprises the following components, wt.-%: calcium chloride, 25-32; urea, 2-7; sodium nitrite, 0.03-1.0, and water, the balance. Invention provides preparing the composite harmless for environment that doesn't show harmful effect on environment, doesn't corrode road coatings, and inhibits corrosion of metals. Agent shows economy and high effectiveness.

SUBSTANCE: method includes applying substance on asphalt-concrete mixture. SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to production of composition of an anti-icing water solution for roads surface treatment against a winter slipperiness (snow rolling-ups, a glaze ice, black ice) n the roads and streets in cities and settlements. SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the method of production of the anti-icing reactants for maintenance of roads in winter. The method of production of the anti-icing reactant based on sodium chloride and calcium chloride provides for mixing of the sodium chloride with calcium chloride and their heating and drying. Sodium chloride crystals are coated with the atomized solution of calcium chloride and dried in the "boiling bed" kiln with production of the double-layer granules, the outer layer of which is composed out of calcium chloride. Sodium chloride crystals are coated with calcium chloride in two phases. The forming small particles of calcium chloride are fed into the cyclone, whence the cyclone dust of the calcium chloride is fed into the mixer for intermixing with the wet crystals of sodium chloride. The produced anti-acing reactant has the improved physicochemical thermodynamic properties.
