The salt concentration of the divalent metal in a sizing composition of the present invention is from about 0.01 to about 3%, preferably from about 0.05 to about 3%, more preferably from about 0.1 to about 1%.

The main sheet manufactured at Western Michigan University using a mixture of bleached pulp from hardwood and pulp from coniferous wood in the ratio of 70:30, crushed to the consistency of grind 390 units of the PSC and contained in the mass of 15% precipitated calcium carbonate ALBACARBUT 0,11% alkenylamine anhydride as a sizing agent, 0,50% cationic starch STA-LOK400 and 0.25% alum, obrabatyvaemomu, obtained from a sizing agent PENTAPRINTH and calcium chloride, and (C) a sizing substance PENTAPRINTH, pre-mixed as a dispersion alkylating dimer (HERCON70), and calcium chloride. The value in the first pre-prepared mixture between PENTAPRINTH and calcium chloride, calculated on the dry substance was 2:1. The ratio of the second pre-cooked mixture between PENTAPRINTH, calcium chloride and HERCON70 in terms of dry substance was 2:1:0,1. These materials were introduced into the starch solution with a concentration of 8 wt.% in terms of dry weight and the final pH was brought to about 8. Such solutions are used in the sizing press for paper processing. The amount of material introduced into the starch, regulated taking into account the amount absorbed by the paper starch solution. For comparative purposes, the sample was treated with a solution of oxidized starch GPC

The introduction of pre-cooked mixture with l2the polymer dispersion was allowed to obtain a surface additive, which ensured the improvement of the quality of inkjet printing. Additional introduction of a reactive sizing agent in this pre-prepared mixture provided additional performance improvements.

EXAMPLE 7
Pre-cooked mixture of calcium chloride and reactive sizing agent, introduced in the size press solution
In example 7 was estimated impact on the quality of inkjet printing on the resulting paper metal salt used in combination with reactive sizing agent, and both components were combined in a pre-prepared mixture, which was further applied to the paper at the place of processing a starch sizing press. Reactive sizing substance used in this example 7, was alkenylamine dimeric substance for paper sizing.

The main sheet was produced in the pilot paper machine at Western Michigan University using a mixture of bleached pulp from deciduous wood and cellulose is Italia in weight of 10% precipitated calcium carbonate ALBACARBUT, 0.6% of cationic starch STA-LOK400, 0.05% of alkenylamine anhydride and 0.25% alum. This base sheet was subjected to surface treatment in the laboratory o sizing press (A) only the starch, (B) starch solution, comprising an emulsion of a reactive surface sizing agent containing alkenylamine dimer (PRECIS2000) and calcium chloride. To obtain this pre-prepared mixture solution of dihydrate of calcium chloride and water in the ratio of 50:50 was introduced in the emulsion metanovogo dimer, resulting in this pre-cooked mixture contained 13.56 wt. percent dry matter of dimer emulsion and 20,34 wt.% of calcium chloride, calculated on the weight of this pre-prepared mixture.

The spot size press used, as in the previous examples, the solution of corn starch GPCD-150 concentration of 8 wt.% in terms of dry weight. These materials are introduced into the starch in such a concentration that provided the destination content in securities is losemore starch (as indicated below in table 7a).

Evaluated the quality of inkjet printing and efficiency sizing of manufactured paper. The results are presented below in table 7a, which used the standard parameters for IPG paint with pH 2 and in tables 7b and 7b.

Among the unexpected advantages of the invention should specify compatible salts with surface additives, compatibility pre-prepared mixtures of salts with surface additives compatible salts with a solution of size press, no problems when applying such compositions to the paper, the improved performance characteristics of the finished paper in the process of inkjet printing using the ink pigment-based, as well as additional advantages of the use of salts with reactive sizing agents, salts with directionspanel sizing substances and mixtures of salts, reactive sizing substances and directionspublic sizing substances. The present invention allows especially to improve at least the following characteristics print quality: optical density, bleeding through spots, increment the black line, spreading the paint over the edge of the image, the uneven contour, et capillary to be used for surface treatment of a substrate for inkjet printing and which includes essentially salt of the divalent metal, moreover, this salt is soluble in water sizing agent at a pH of from about 7 to about 9, and water sizing agent include starch and sizing agent.

2. The composition, which can be used in the processing of substrates for inkjet printing and which includes essentially salt of the divalent metal, solubilizing in the aquatic environment sizing agent at a pH of from about 7 to about 9, and this aqueous medium sizing agent includes, in addition, starch and sizing agent.

The composition, which can be used for surface treatment of a substrate for inkjet printing using the ink pigment-based and which consists essentially of starch, sizing agent and a salt selected from calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium bromide, magnesium bromide, calcium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, calcium acetate and magnesium acetate.
