Method of purification of exhaust gases from sulfur dioxide

(57) Abstract:

The invention can be used for cleaning flue gases from sulfur dioxide. Method of purification of exhaust gases from sulfur dioxide involves feeding exhaust gases at three successive stages of purification, at the first stage, the exhaust gases are cleaned in the presence of an alkaline solution, the second stage produces filtration, and the third stage to produce a wet cleaning under the action of the alkaline solution. At the first stage of purification of exhaust gases fed into the scrubber with a downward parallel with temperatures over 750oWith, and the alkaline solution is not less than 60oC. the Invention allows to increase the degree of purification of exhaust gas from sulfur compounds, including gas with a hydrogen sulfide content of more than 0,15%. 4 C.p. f-crystals.

The invention relates to the field of environmental protection and can be used for exhaust gas cleaning gas, metallurgical and waste incineration plants.

The closest analogue to the present invention is a method of cleaning exhaust gases from sulfur dioxide, including the supply of exhaust gas to the three stages of treatment: in the presence of selecing the(carbonate salts of sodium and sodium hydroxide) in the third stage, and the purified gas output (see application EPO 0664146, CL 01 D 53/50, priority 04.11.1994 year).

The disadvantages of this method is the low degree of purification of exhaust gases from sulfur compounds, moreover, it cannot be applied when the content of hydrogen sulfide in the exhaust gas more than 0,15% vol.

In the claimed invention solved the technical problem of providing flue gas with a hydrogen sulfide content of more than 0,15% and increase the degree of purification of exhaust gas from the sulfur compounds.

The problem is solved in that in the method of cleaning exhaust gases from sulfur dioxide, including the flow of exhaust gases on the three stages of cleaning, namely: in the presence of the alkaline solution in the first stage, the filtering in the second stage and wet cleaning under the action of the alkaline solution in the third stage, the first stage of purification of exhaust gases fed into the scrubber with a downward parallel with temperatures over 750oWith, and the alkaline solution is not less than 60oC.

In addition, exhaust gases to the first stage of purification can be submitted after the furnace afterburners, the third purification stage is carried out in a wet scrubber, as alkali on the first and third stud is ideological.

The method is as follows.

Exhaust gases from the furnace after afterburners served on the first stage of purification at a temperature above 750oWith the scrubber is operating in the mode of the downward co-current, in the upper part of which comes alkaline sodium hydroxide solution in a spray form with the temperature not less than 60oC. In the downward movement of the incoming exhaust gases and droplets sprayed alkaline solution is partial absorption of sulfur dioxide with an alkaline solution, the temperature of the exhaust gases provides virtually instantaneous evaporation of the liquid phase and the formation of sulfates, sulfites of sodium in the form of a solid product. Partial separation of the gas formed solid precipitate occurs in the lower part of the scrubber.

Next, from the gas stream in the cyclone-dust collector is filtering i.e. the separation of finely dispersed solid phase, where it is released from the main mass of the solid phase and is fed to the third stage of purification in the wet scrubber, which is irrigated with a solution of sodium hydroxide. Under the action of the above solution is the final absorption of sulfur dioxide and purified gas enters the atmosphere.
