The method of surface treatment of paper

(57) Abstract:

The invention relates to the pulp and paper industry, in particular the production of paper with surface treatment as pigmented and non-pigmented. High starch and low-starch mix. The mixture is applied onto the base paper. As a low molecular weight starch, the use of starch obtained by treating the source of high molecular weight starch ionizing radiation dose absorbed energy of 0.1-40,0 Mrad. These components are mixed at the ratio of the original high and low molecular weight starches respectively 1 : 20 to 20 : 1. When this solution is applied to paper-based exercise with one or two sides. The method allows to improve the physico-mechanical and printing properties of paper by increasing the mass of the coating by increasing the concentration of the coating composition. 1 C.p. f-crystals, 1 table.

The invention relates to the production of paper with surface treatment, such as pigmented and non-pigmented, and is intended for use in the pulp and paper industry.

The known method of surface processing of PU is ve dextrin (Technological regulation of the production process "Paper gummed to transfer images", IGOS "Union", 1980, S. 17 - 19).

Obtained in a known manner, the paper is high quality, but the technological implementation of this method is cumbersome.

The closest analogue of the present invention is a method for the surface treatment of paper by mixing high molecular weight starch and low molecular weight starch and application of the prepared mixture on the base paper (SU, 1285098, class B 41 M 3/12, 1987).

As a high molecular weight starch (VM) in a known method can be used starch of any nature, as well as low molecular weight starch (NM) - enzymatic or acid hydrolyzed with a characteristic viscosity to 0.011 - 0.015 g m3/kg.

The ratio VM starch NM and starch in the following layer (wt. %):

Native starch is 2.5 to 15.0

Hydrolyzed starch - 85,0 - 97,5

Using the known method, comprising a VM starch NM and starch can significantly improve the paper quality by reducing her curls and enhance smoothness.

New technical result from the use of the present invention is the improvement of physico-mechanical and printing properties of paper by increasing the, a method of surface treatment of paper by mixing high molecular weight starch and low molecular weight starch and application of the prepared mixture on the base paper, as a low molecular weight starch, the use of starch obtained by treating the source of high molecular weight starch ionizing radiation dose absorbed energy of 0.1 - 40,0 Mrad, and these components are mixed at the ratio of the original high molecular weight starches, respectively, from 1:20 to 20:1.

When this solution is applied to paper-based exercise with one or two sides, and as ionizing radiation using electromagnetic radiation, high-energy electrons, positrons and streams of particles.

Under this treatment the original isomolecular starch ionizing radiation occurs destruction of the starch macromolecules, lower molecular weight and lower viscosity of the solution prepared with the starch. The low viscosity allows you to work with a solution of higher concentration.

The proposed processing is as follows:

the starch in dry form (powder) should be treated in the accelerator of electrons by fast electrons (radiation) with DOI, and modified by any known method, for example: native potato, corn, rice, wheat and maize starch; dextrin, oxidized, enzyme, gums or cationic starch.

When preparing the mixture for the surface treatment of paper original mix high and low molecular weight starch obtained by modifying the original high molecular weight starch. Having the same nature they are well combined, forming two interpenetrating nets. High molecular weight starch provides mechanical and printing properties of paper, and low molecular weight starch is a low viscosity solution that allows you to increase the concentration of the mixture. The invention is illustrated by the following examples of its implementation.

Example 1. The method of surface treatment of the paper is as follows: paper-based applied coating mixture of the following composition (wt.%):

(VM) Potato starch (native) - 94,3

(NM) Potato starch, modified at the dose of absorbed energy 4 Mrad - 4,8

Optical bleach at a ratio BM : NM 20:1 TO 0.9

In a container with a stirrer pour 900 ml of water at a temperature of 40oC, s 15 minutes. Then fall asleep 4.8 g modified potato starch, 0.9 g of the optical Brightener and stirred for further 15 minutes. The resulting solution was diluted with cold water to concentrations of 8 - 10%. The quality indicators received paper presented in the table.

Example 2. The method of surface treatment of the paper is as follows: paper-based applied coating mixture of the following composition (wt.%):

Potato enzyme-hydrolyzed starch (VM) - 50

Potato starch enzymatic-hydrolyzed, modified at the dose of absorbed energy of 0.1 Mrad (NM) at a ratio BM:NM 1:1 - 50

The coating mixture is prepared analogously to example 1.

The quality indicators received paper presented in the table.

Example 3. The method of surface treatment of paper for printing carried out analogously to example 1, with the only difference that the use of a coating composition of the following composition (wt.%):

Corn cationic starch (VM) - 3,8

The cationic corn starch, modified at the dose of 30 Mrad (NM) - 76,2

Calcium carbonate, precipitated or natural, when the ratio BM:NM 1:20 - 20,0

The coating composition is prepared anal is p 4 (the prototype).

The method of surface treatment of paper for printing carried out analogously to example 1, with the only difference that the use of a coating composition of the following composition (wt.%):

Potato enzyme-hydrolyzed starch with a characteristic viscosity to 0.011 m3kg - 85

Native starch - 15

The quality indicators received paper presented in the table.

From the table it is seen that the use of the composition for paper processing mixtures based on high molecular weight modified by fast electrons starch enables you to increase specific strength, stiffness in static bending, smoothness, by increasing the mass of the coating by reducing the viscosity of 5 to 10 times, and good compatibility starches.

1. The method of surface treatment of paper by mixing high molecular weight starch and low molecular weight starch and application of the prepared mixture on the base paper, wherein as the low molecular weight starch, the use of starch obtained by treating the source of high molecular weight starch ionizing radiation dose absorbed energy of 0.1 - 40,0 Mrad, and these components smesi the CLASS="ptx2">

2. The method according to p. 1, wherein the solution is applied to paper-based exercise with one or two sides.
