(57) Abstract:

The invention relates to the processing of metals by pressure and can be used in the manufacture of parts made of magnesium alloys by hot deformation. A method of manufacturing hollow parts of magnesium alloys involves the extrusion of a tubular preform and forming it thickened part by hot crimping when the temperature of the container 300 to 400oC and strain rate of 0.5-5.0 s-1. The technical result of the invention is to increase productivity.

The present invention relates to the field of metal forming and can be used in the manufacture of parts made of magnesium alloys by hot deformation.

A known method of manufacturing hollow parts with thickened ends of magnesium alloys, including extrusion billets and turning it on the external side, leaving the ending (Abebaw A. L. et al. M: mechanical engineering, 1970, S. 182).

The disadvantages of this method are the inability to obtain a smooth outer surface, low labour productivity and low utilization of metal (KIM).

Examples of the method

For the manufacture of stretch marks received billet magnesium alloy MA-1. The ingot 90 mm was heated at 380oC for 20 min and then extruded tubular workpiece 30 x 2 mm Billet crimp in the container at a temperature of 280, 300, 350, 400 and 420oC IMM. For the manufacture of each part took 0.16 hours (part time and KIM was equal to 0,95).

Hollow parts - stretch - failed to get the regimes below and above offer, because the tubular workpiece loses its stability and getting the details of the required geometry is not possible.

The same marks were made by a known method prototype.
