Fixing composition for finishing natural leather

(57) Abstract:

The composition can be used at the stage of finishing dyeing of natural leather. The composition includes a film-forming product of the combination of polyvinyl butyral and a phenol-formaldehyde resin composition 1:1 alcohol-dye, politicalideological mol.m. 1500-4000 and an organic solvent. Composition allows you to simultaneously increase the stability of the coating to repeated bending and wet friction, and achieved the color fastness to dry and wet friction. table 1.

The invention relates to soluble fixing compositions used at the stage of finishing dyeing of natural leather.

In the prior art it is known that for surface dyeing of leather, mainly used water composition [1, 2, 3], the drawback of which is the rapid aging of the coating composition, resulting in deterioration of physical and mechanical performance of the coating. It also creates imitation artificial leather, i.e. disappears leather imitation. Water fixing compositions have a relatively short shelf life, after which the composition is stratified and is not suitable for further use.

Ispolzuyteskryty their production is highly explosive, limiting their use in industry.

Colored soluble fixing compositions do not have the disadvantages listed above.

As a prototype of the selected composition of the fixative coatings on the skin on the basis of waste polyvinyl butyral (PVB), published in [4].

Composition # 4 contains polyvinyl butyral and 1% melamine-formaldehyde resin, an organic solvent, which is ethanol and butyl acetate in a ratio of 1 : 1.

The disadvantages of this structure are low resistance coating to repeated bending and abrasion on wet skin (7300 bends and 150 rpm, respectively).

The technical result of the claimed composition is a simultaneous increase in the resistance of coatings to repeated bending and wet friction. In addition, values are achieved color fastness to dry and wet friction in accordance with the requirements of GOST 938.29-77.

The technical result is achieved due to the fact that the fixing composition for finishing natural leather contains as the film-forming product of the combination of polyvinyl butyral with a phenol-formaldehyde resin in a ratio of 1 : 1, the action of the dye in the following ratio, %:

The foaming agent is polyvinyl butyral and a phenol-formaldehyde resin 1 : 1 - 10 - 12

Soluble dye is 0.3 to 1.5

Politicalideological mol.m. 1500 - 4000 - 2 - 4

Organic solvent To 100

Significant difference between the claimed invention is the introduction into the composition additionally PTMEG mol.m. 1500 - 4000 and soluble dye, which together with the components shown above and in the specified percentages give an unexpected effect, which is confirmed by the experiment shown in the table.

In the prior art it is known the use of PTMEG as the original product for the synthesis of polymers [5]. Use it in fixing compositions for finishing natural leather is unknown.

Soluble dyes: orange 2ZH THE 6-14-774-77; yellow 3 TU 6-14-814-77; Bordeaux 4C THE 6-14-02-10-74; nigrosine GOST 9307-78 used for the manufacture of pastes for ballpoint pens, as well as for the tinting of various paints. The use of these dyes in the leather finishing industry is unknown.

Note for example 21 in table. The tests were carried out after 3 months.

Based on the experimental data given in the table is m above 1.5 - 3.5 times. In addition, to achieve high color stability (4 - 5 marks) to wet and dry friction after applying a fixing composition and operating conditions (example 21).

With increasing concentration of dye over 1.5% of the strength of the coloration of the skin to friction is reduced to three or less points, when using concentrations less than 0.3% not achieved alignment of color over the entire area leather.

When using the PVB film and the FSF in a 1 : 1 ratio in excess of about 12% significantly increases the viscosity of the composition, making it difficult technology coating on the skin, and with the introduction of the foaming agent is less than 10% of the deterioration in the color fastness to wet friction and resistance of the coating to wet friction.

In the case of PTMEG mol.m. over 4000 hampered the preparation of the composition, violated the homogeneity of the composition during storage, and the use of low molecular weight fractions of PTMEG with wt.m. less than 1500 decreases the stability of the coating to repeated bending, worsening neck skin.

With the increase in the number of PTMEG more than 4% increases the duration of drying, the coating dries poorly, which is not practically feasible, because it slows down plancor>Fixing coating composition prepared by mixing the components in the following way. In the example of 40.9 g of the soluble nigrosine dyes were dissolved in 30 g of a solvent mixture of ethanol : butyl acetate in a ratio of 1 : 1; separately, 10 g of PVB film : FSF in the ratio of 1 : 1 was dissolved in 30 g of the same solvent mixture and the resulting solution is injected with a dye solution of soluble nigrosine with stirring. 2.5 g of PTMEG mol. m 2500 was dissolved 26.5 g of a mixture of ethanol : butyl acetate 1 : 1, was mixed with other components at room temperature and thoroughly mixing.

Tests are performed on Yalova, pork and goat skins enterprise Invest and Tver kojzavod on traditional technology coating dyeing described in the literature [6].

Indicators of quality finished leather was determined in accordance with GOST 13869-74 and GOST 13868-74.

Fixing composition for finishing leather, including a film based on polyvinyl butyral and formaldehyde resin and an organic solvent, characterized in that it further comprises polytetramethylene mol. m 1500 - 4000 and soluble dye, and as a plait is the total proportion of components wt.%:

Polyvinyl butyral and a phenol-formaldehyde resin 1 : 1 - 10 - 12

Soluble dye is 0.3 to 1.5

Politicalideological mol. m 1500 - 4000 - 2 - 4
