Such bisulfite cellulose is obtained by pulping softwood at pH of cooking liquor 2.4-2.9, SO2 concentration 5.0-5.5%, and temperature 155-157°C. Wood-pulp is the one subjected to chemical, thermal, and mechanical treatment and characterized by whiteness 60-65%.
