At the first passage of forging by upset of forging part it is implemented conic set of metal. At the second passage to conical set by upsetting it is given mushroom-like form. Simultaneously it is formed axial hollow of cone-shaped form. At the third passage it is implemented preliminary broaching-distribution of mushroom-like thickening without changing of its length. At the fourth passage it is implemented final broaching-distribution of received at the third passage thickening. Additionally it is formed walls of hollow spherical thickening by backward extrusion. It is provided ratio of thickening length of received at the third passage, to length of spherical thickening, received at the fourth passage, ≤1. Ratio of depth of broached on specified third and fourth passages cavities < 1.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition for small arms, primarily, to armor-piercing cores of bullets. Proposed method of forming comprises cutting, forming and withdrawing of dummy. Forming is performed in multiple stages to produce ogival or conical shape. Every time deformation is started on dummy section not deformed yet. During every subsequent stage, new punch is used to process head part with decreased angle of taper of forming chamber. In forming ogival shape, final forming is carried out. Dummy is withdrawn by resting ejector on dummy rear end face. After every forming, annealing is additionally performed.
