Method of controlling transmission capacity involves the following: determination of the type of service requested by a user, assigning the type of service maximum transmission capacity used, establishing a transmission capacity control policy for the type of service; calculation of the transmission capacity taken by the type of service when a user uses the service; and control of the transmission capacity taken by the type of service in accordance with the transmission capacity control policy if the transmission capacity taken by the type of service exceeds the maximum transmission capacity assigned to the type of service. Structure and technique for peer-to-peer group control Invention relates to information transmission apparatus. Member of a group having several members initiates at least one group control function which ensures limitation of membership in the group. At least one group control function includes configuration of the group access list, transmission of group control messages through peer-to-peer communication from the initiating group member to one or more group members, provision for non-server group control communication between group members and supporting a local copy of the group access list by each group member in response to membership data transmission. Transmission of group control messages includes transmission of membership data associated with the group access list to one or more other group members. Local copies of the group access list are essentially identical. |
