SUBSTANCE: method includes the steps of: transporting (S13) of the analyzing objects (3) on the conveyor belt (1); scanning (S14) of the objects (3) electromagnetic properties and the conveyor belt (1) by means of the electromagnetic sensor (9), at that the electromagnetic properties of the conveyor belt is dependent on the metallic contaminants (19), that are stuck in the conveyor belt (1); generation of the data on the belt properties, characterizing the electromagnetic properties of the conveyor belt (1), and the objects (3) analysis in accordance with the scanned electromagnetic properties and data on the belt properties. This gives the advantage, that while distinguishing the metallic and non-metallic objects, that need to be sorted, the electromagnetic properties of the conveyor belt (1) are taken into account, namely the effect of metal contaminants (19), that are stuck in the conveyor belt (1).

EFFECT: reduction of the influence on the objects sorting, which in the course of time get stuck in the conveyor belt, so that the sorting results can be improved.

Separated mixture of minerals is supplied in the mode of free falling flux. Contactless measurement of sign and value of induced triboelectric charge is carried out with the help of detector connected to fast-acting electrometric amplifier connected to unit of signal processing. Separation threshold is selected based on previously assessed values for natural diamonds of preset class of fineness. Claimed separator comprises the drum to get at least the first and second fractions of particles flowing from the drum in the first and second paths, respectively. The feeder is arranged upstream of separator drum to feed said particles thereto and separating element arranged downstream of said drum to separate the first and second fractions. Said separator comprises the sensor to detect the particles, their quantity and/or properties of the material of at least the portion of said particles. Said separating element can displace at the separator so that the distance (d) between said separating element and said drum, and/or orientation of separating element relative to said drum, and/or feeder transfer rate are controlled depending on the sensor signal proceeding from the particle material; amount and/or properties. Sensor comprises the power beam transmitter composed of optical radiator and optical receiver to measure the reflection and/or attenuation at power beam particles passage. Note here that said sensor comprises the third sensory part such as solenoid fitted to detect the electromagnetic characteristics of particles flowing there through. Said sensor comprises the section of the sample passage (i.e. minor percentage) of the first fraction of particles. Said sensor can calculate the metal content in the first fraction of particle proceeding from sensor calculations and preset ratio between mean particle weight of non-metal and metal particles. The separator allows the adjustment of separating element position, in fact, continuously, for example, every several seconds processing from said signal from the sensor.
