SUBSTANCE: invention relates to formaldehyde-free aqueous binding composition for mineral fibres. Composition contains at least one monosaccharide, ammonium sulphamate or sulphamate of alkali or alkali-earth metal in amount from 1 to 10 wt% and ammonium hydroxide and/or organic ammonium salt.
EFFECT: composition provides an advantage in form of a short time of polymerisation during production of fibrous mineral material, ensuring thermal and mechanical stability of said material.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to formaldehyde-free coating compositions. The coatings are used to endow fibrous panels and acoustic panels, such as ceiling tiles, with sag resistance. The composition includes a polyacid copolymer having at least two carboxyl groups, anhydride groups or salts thereof, a compound having a hydroxyl group, a phosphorus-containing catalyst and calcium aluminosilicate powder.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to binding compositions for insulation articles based on mineral wool. Disclosed is a binding composition based on mineral felt or glass fibre, which includes at least one saccharide, at least one organic polycarboxylic acid containing 2-4 carboxylic functional groups and having molecular weight less than or equal to 1000, and at least one polyorganosiloxane containing at least one functional group capable of reacting with at least one of the components of the binding composition. The invention also discloses a sound- and/or heat-insulation article and coating made of mineral fibre, glued using the disclosed composition and a method of producing a sound- and/or heat-insulation article.
EFFECT: disclosed binding composition does not contain formaldehyde and endows insulation articles with low water absorption.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a fire-resistant thermo- and/or sound-insulating product. The fire-resistant thermo- and/or sound-insulating product is based on mineral wool, in particular an asbestos fibre or glasswool and an organic binding agent. The product contains a salt of metal and polycarboxylic acid as a fire retardant.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a water-soluble resin composition, a method of producing such a resin composition, use of the resin composition as binding material for non-woven fibre material, particularly insulation materials, and a method of producing such insulation material. The water-soluble resin composition contains a resin which is a product of reaction of aldehyde, preferably selected from a group including formaldehyde and (lower alkyl (C1-C4)) mono- or di-aldehydes or formaldehyde precursors, which can form formaldehyde directly in the resin composition, and a hydroxyl-aromatic compound selected from a group including substituted and unsubstituted mono- or polycyclic phenols, preferably from phenol, said composition further containing: an amino compound containing 2-6 amino groups, which is selected from a group comprising urea, dicyandiamide and melamine, and where the amino compound can also be a mixture of two or more different amino compounds; and a sugar alcohol. The resin has initial molar ratio of aldehyde to the hydroxyl-aromatic compound from 2.3 to 5.5; the ratio of the resin to the amino compound plus the sugar alcohol ranges from 45:55 to 70:30 pts.wt; the ratio of the amino compound to the resin lies between 20:80 and 50:50 pts.wt; and the ratio of the sugar alcohol to the resin plus the amino compound lies between 5:95 and 30:70 pts.wt. The sugar alcohol has a boiling point higher than the setting point of the resin.
EFFECT: obtaining a resin composition having well preserved water-solubility and without ammonia, reduced phenol and formaldehyde emissions during hardening and preservation of mechanical properties of the hardened resin, particularly wet strength.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a water-base resin binder for use in inorganic fibre material, where the resin binder is obtained by reacting at least the following components in any order: (a) protein-like material which is a protein hydrolysate which is considerably soluble in water at 20°C and has viscosity of less than 50 mPa∙s for 25 wt % aqueous solution, (b) an aromatic hydroxyl compound and (c) aldehyde, and where the water-base resin binder has viscosity of less than 100 mPa∙s when measured in concentration of 50 wt % at 20°C.
EFFECT: during solidification, the obtained resin has lower release of phenols and the release of formaldehyde and ammonia is considerably lower compared to traditional resins.

Composition contains water-soluble component produced by interaction of at least one alkanolamyn with at least one carbonic acid anhydride and urea in amount 1-25% w/w calculated as hard components of composition. The ratio of components is such that the ratio of equivalents of aminogroups plus hydroxyl-groups (NH+OH) excluding urea to equivalents of carboxyl groups (COOH) in the component is in the range of about 0.6-1.5. The ready water-soluble component is not mandatory treated with the alkali. The composition is used for production of glued item by bringing mineral fibers or product of mineral fibers in contact with composition of water binding medium and its subsequent hardening at temperature 225-300°C.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the composition of water binding medium for products made of mineral fiber with increased aging resistance. Composition contains water-soluble component. The component is produced by interaction of glycerin and at least one alkanolamyn with at least one carbonic acid anhydride. The ratio of components is such that the ratio of equivalents of aminogroups plus hydroxyl-groups (NH+OH) to equivalents of carboxyl groups (COOH) in the component is in the range of about 0.4-2.0. The amount of glycerin used is such that the ratio of equivalents of glycerin OH groups to total amount of equivalents of aminogroups plus hydroxyl-groups (NH+OH) is 0.1-0.9. The ready water-soluble component is not mandatory treated with the alkali. The composition is used for production of glued item by bringing mineral fibers or product of mineral fibers in contact with composition of water binding medium and its subsequent hardening at temperature 225-300°C.

SUBSTANCE: method to manufacture paper-resin film includes preparation of an impregnation solution by dissolving the impregnation phenol-formaldehyde resin with water to the required concentration and viscosity, addition of a soaking additive, a separating-antiadhesive additive, anti-blocking additive to prevent sticking of films. The impregnation composition contains carbonate or ammonia bicarbonate, or their mixtures - ammonium bicarbonates, in amount of 0.5-4% to mass of phenol resin.
EFFECT: improved physical and mechanical characteristics of coating based on a paper and resin film, reduced time of drying of impregnated paper base and duration of facing of veneer and other board materials.
SUBSTANCE: non-formaldehyde-containing curable aqueous composition contains polyvinyl alcohol combined with starch or modified starch or sugar, a multi-functional cross-linking agent and, optionally, a catalyst. The cross-linking agent is non-polymeric polyaldehyde, non-polymeric polyacid, salt thereof or anhydride. Nonwoven articles are obtained by bringing the composition into contact with fibrous components. Further, the mixture is cured to obtain a hard thermoset polymer.
EFFECT: composition ensures excellent strength and water resistance of the cured nonwoven article.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a painting canvas based on glass fibre intended to be applied on the inner surface of a building, which contains an agent capable of trapping formaldehyde, as well as a method of making said painting canvas. The painting canvas contains an impregnating agent and an agent capable of trapping formaldehyde which is selected from compounds with active methylene groups, hydrazides, tannins, amides, amino acids, peptides and proteins. The method of making the canvas involves feeding the canvas into a padding machine or device having two rollers, each having a centre tube for feeding the impregnating agent under pressure, followed by drying and collecting the canvas. The method includes a step of treating with an agent which is capable of trapping formaldehyde.
EFFECT: use of the canvas reduces the amount of formaldehyde inside buildings.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation curable supercoatings on optical fibre. The supercoating includes a primary coating and a secondary coating. After initial curing and after at least one month of ageing at 85°C and relative humidity of 85%, the primary coating has the following properties: 1) % RAU from 84% to 99%; 2) modulus of elasticity from 0.15 MPa to 0.60 MPa; 3) tube Tg from -25°C to -55°C. After initial curing and after at least one month of ageing at 85°C and relative humidity of 85%, the secondary coating has the following properties: 1) % RAU from 80% to 98%; 2) modulus of elasticity from 0.060 GPa to 1.90 GPa; 3) tube Tg from 50°C to 80°C. The maximum acceptable increase in attenuation requirements for the telecommunications network where the optical fiber will be installed are determined first. Operating conditions of the supercoatings are then determined. A composition of the primary and secondary coatings in a liquid, uncured state is then formulated. The primary and secondary coatings are tested to determine properties of the supercoatings. If the required properties of the supercoatings are not obtained, the primary and/or secondary coatings are re-formulated to achieve given properties.
EFFECT: reduced microbending of the fibre and signal attenuation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sizing composition for glass fibres, particularly meant for reinforcing organic and/or inorganic matrices, the obtained glass fibres as well as composite materials containing said glass fibres. The sizing composition for glass fibres in form of a physical gel contains the following, wt %: 0.1-5 of at least one texturising agent selected from xanthanes, guar gum and succinoglycans; 2-8 of at least one film-forming agent; 0.1-8 of at least one compound selected from a group consisting of plasticisers, surfactants and dispersants; 0.1-4 of at least one binder; 0-6 of at least one additive. The subject of the invention is also glass fibres coated with said sizing composition and composite materials containing an organic or inorganic material which is reinforced with said glass fibres.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aqueous binder for manufacture of non-woven product. The water binder for manufacture of non-woven product is an adduct of carbohydrate polymer and multifunctional cross-linking agent selected from the group consisting of a polybasic acid, its salt, its anhydride and their mixtures. The water binder is obtained by combining carbohydrate polymer and multifunctional cross-linking agent. The water binder is used to bond the glass fiber or mineral wool fibers. To do this, the glass fiber or mineral wool fibers are contacted with the water binder, and the mixture is heated for a time sufficient to cure. The bonded by water binder product of glass fiber is used in the material for thermal insulation of buildings. In the manufacture of water binder the renewable materials are used.
EFFECT: water binder is free of formaldehyde and has a low cost.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to artificial mineral wool. The mineral wool contains fibre of the following composition, in wt %: SiO2 35-60, preferably 39-55, Al2O3 12-27, CaO 0-35, MgO 0-30, Na2O 0-17, K2O 0-17, Na2O+K2O 10-17, P2O5 0-5, Fe2O3 0-20, B2O3 0-8, TiO2 0-3, and at least one phosphorus compound capable of reacting with fibre at temperature below 1000°C to form a coating on the surface of the fibre and which is a molecule in which one or more phosphorus atoms are bonded to at least one carbon atom directly or indirectly through an oxygen atom. Content of the phosphorus compound in terms of phosphorus ranges from 0.0005%, specifically from 0.01 to 1%, specifically less than 0.5% of the total mass of fibre. The method of making the said mineral wool involves a fibre formation step and then a step for depositing at least one phosphorus compound onto the surface of the fibre, specifically through spraying or impregnation with a solution. The said mineral wool can be used in fireproof structures. Thermal- and or sound-insulating material contains at least one type of the said mineral wool. The invention is developed in subclaims.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and processing glass fibre, and specifically to lubricating agents which can be used for glass- and basalt straight and spliced rovings for reinforcing fibre glass, chopped glass- and basalt fibres for brake plates of motor cars or glass-fibre mats, low-twist textile fibre. The lubricating agent for glass and basalt fibre has the following ratio of components, in wt %: diamide formaldehyde resin DTU-TST-23 2.0-5.0; MAS-4 lubricant 3.0-5.0; organosilanes 0.1-0.6; acetic acid 0.2-0.3; water - the rest. The organosilanes used are in form of gamma-methacryloxypropyl-trimethoxysilane or gamma-glycide-oxypropyl-trimethoxysilane and aminopropyl-trimethoxydilane.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of making articles using mineral fibre with improved hydrolytic stability, specifically to preparing aqueous binder which binds said article. The aqueous binder composition for mineral fibre contains a water soluble binding component, obtained by reacting at least one alkanolamine with at least one carboxylic acid anhydride and, optionally, treated with a base and at least one compound which improves hydrolytic stability, selected from monoalkanolamines; allylamines; peroxide compounds; compounds with at least one long aliphatic chain and at least one functional group and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR).
EFFECT: obtaining binder with excellent binding characteristics relating to strength and rate of hardening, with good solubility in water and exhibits considerably improved hydrolytic stability.

Invention describes preparing resin used as a binding agent suitable for mineral fibers, such as glass-wool or stone wool containing product of interaction of amine with the first anhydride and the second anhydride. The first and second anhydrides represent different cyclic anhydrides wherein the first cyclic anhydride represents aliphatic anhydride and the second cyclic anhydride represents aromatic anhydride. Also, invention claims a binding agent based on above said resin and product hardened with this binding agent.
