Ionising radiation resistant polymer composition

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: polymer composition contains a propylene and ethylene copolymer, contains 3-11 wt % ethylene and has a melt flow index of 25-50 g/10 min, polyethylene, a sterically hindered amine, triallylisocyanurate and pentaerythryl-tetrakis-3-(3′,5′-di-tert-butyl-4′-hydroxyphenyl)propionate as a stabiliser. The composition also contains pentaerythritol and a Remafin dye concentrate.

EFFECT: disclosed composition is resistant to ionising radiation and enables to obtain nonwoven material with high elasticity and lower power consumption during processing thereof.

The composition can contain filler and a vulcanising agent. The filling oil is selected from a group consisting of aromatic oil, aliphatic oil, naphthene oil and mixtures thereof.

EFFECT: invention provides higher rate of vulcanisation, improved relative elongation and a higher modulus of elasticity with 300% elongation, improved dynamic mechanical properties.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rubber-technical, tyre, footwear industry and other fields of technology, in particular, to rubber mixtures based on diene and ethylenepropylene elastomers, filled with silica white or its combination with technical carbon. Rubber mixture includes diene or ethylenepropylene caoutchouc, silica white with caoutchouc interaction promoter. As promoter mixture contains two-component composition. First component of composition - alkoxysilane, contains unsaturated hydrocarbon substituent at silicon atom, selected from group-gamma- methacryloxypropyl-trimethoxysilane and vinyl trimethoxysilane in quantity 1-6 wt.fr. per 100 wt.fr. of caoutchouc. Second component of composition is polyorganosiloxane with content of hydridesilane groups -1.0-1.7% and is selected from group methylhydridesiloxane and methyl(methyloctyl)hydridesiloxane in quantity 1.0-2.2 wt.fr per 100 wt.fr. of caoutchouc.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve properties of rubber mixture and its vulcanisers, as well as to increase temperature of mixture preparation above 150°C without risk of scorching.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heterophase polypropylene resin, a method of producing such a polypropylene resin and use thereof in making articles, particularly as material for making insulation and semiconductor layers of power cables. The heterophase polypropylene resin contains a matrix phase of a propylene radom copolymer and a rubber phase of an ethylene-propylene copolymer dispersed in the matrix phase. The heterophase polypropylene resin is characterised by melt flow rate (2.16 kg, 230°C) from 1.0 to 100 g/10 min, determined according to ISO 1133, and a fraction which is soluble in p-xylene at 25°C (XCS fraction), which is present in the resin in amount of 28 to 50 wt % and has molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) from 1.0 to 4.0.

EFFECT: heterophase polypropylene resin has high softness, improved low-temperature impact characteristics and a high melting point.

The dispersion contains: A) at least one dispersed polyolefin, B) at least one dispersing component, C) mineral oil and D) at least one glycerol ester obtained from unsaturated carboxylic acids having 8-30 carbon atoms. Component (A) contains one or more olefin copolymers, hydrogenated polyisoprene, a hydrogenated butadiene/isoprene copolymer or a hydrogenated copolymer of butadiene/isoprene and styrene. FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and specifically to a method of making rubber-polymer articles designed for facing different surfaces and structures exposed to a constant load and wearing. The method of making rubber-polymer articles involves producing thermoplastic via combined thermal treatment of rubber and polyethylene and moulding. A mixture of polyethylene and rubber in amount of 35-45% and 55-65%, respectively, is used, the surface of which, during mixing, is treated with butyl alcohol in amount of 0-2.5% of the amount of the mixture. The mixture is then heated step by step while constantly stirring for 10 minutes at 240-250°C, then for 20 minutes to 235°C and then for 10 minutes to 220-235°C. The hot mixture is then used to mould articles in 3-5 minutes at pressure of 120-140 kg/cm2, and the moulded articles are then cooled. Low-pressure polyethylene in granules is used. The rubber can be used in form of industrial rubber wastes.

EFFECT: invention enables to make articles of the required configuration with improved strength and friction characteristics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composition of polymodal polyethylene, which has improved resistance to cracking under impact of environment and higher rate of crystallisation. Composition contains ethylene homopolymer, two ethylene copolymers and nucleating agent in amount from 20 to 5000 ppm in terms of entire polyethylene composition. Second ethylene copolymer has higher molecular weight than first ethylene copolymer, and first ethylene copolymer has higher molecular weight than ethylene homopolymer.

EFFECT: obtained polyethylene composition possesses resistance to cracking under impact of environment (ASTM D1693, Conditions B, in 100% Igepal) more than or equal 40 days, and half time of crystallisation lower than or equal 70% of half time of crystallisation of polymodal polyethylene without nucleating agent.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer material science and specifically to production of a composite dispersion reinforced material for making pipes based on medium-density low-pressure polyethylene PE80B and dispersion reinforcing filler. The method of producing the composite dispersion reinforced material involves mixing polyethylene PE80B and the dispersion reinforcing filler, selected from chopped carbon fibres of polyacrylonitrile or cellulose hydrate, in a melt at temperature of 180°C, followed by mechanically grinding the mixture to granule size of 2-5 mm to obtain a granular composite material. Further, the granular composite material is extruded at temperature of 180°C and roller speed of 30 rpm, or the granular composite material is pressed at temperature of 180°C and a load of 180 kN to obtain composite dispersion reinforced material.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an article for decorating the interior of a car. The article is made from a composition which contains at least 50 wt % polypropylene composition with melt flow rate MFR2 (230°C) from 2.0 to 80.0 g/10 min. The polypropylene composition contains at least 25 wt % heterophase polypropylene (H-PP1), at least 25 wt % heterophase polypropylene (H-PP2), at least 10000 to 550000 ppm inosilicate and 1000 to 5000 ppm phenol antioxidants. Each of said heterophase polypropylenes contains a polypropylene matrix which is a propylene homopolymer, and an elastomeric copolymer containing links that are derivatives of propylene and ethylene and/or alpha-olefins C4-C20. The weight content in the heterophase polypropylene (H-PP1) of substances that are soluble in cold xylene, measured according to ISO 6427, ranges from 15.0 to 40.0%, and from 5.0 to 20.0% in the heterophase polypropylene (H-PP2).

EFFECT: invention improves the result of odour evaluation based on sensory perception, and also considerably reduces the emission of all volatile compounds from the product, particularly 2-methyl-1-propene, without losing mechanical properties of the article, such as tensile modulus and/or flexural modulus.

SUBSTANCE: composite material consists of the following, wt %: polyethylene 277 50-55 and a copper polyacrylamide polycomplex 50-45. The copper polyacrylamide polycomplex is obtained by dissolving copper powder in ammonia solution, mixing the obtained solution with aqueous polyacrylamide solution and separating the polycomplex from the solution with acetone or ethyl alcohol.

SUBSTANCE: method involves producing an ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene-based composite which is reinforced with carbon fibres, with filling ratio of not more than 30 wt %, by forming the composite using a solid-phase deformation technique which involves mixed grinding of a thermoplastic polymer and carbon fibres in a cutting mill. Monolithic samples are made from the composite powder by hot pressing at temperature of 160°C and pressure of 60 MPa.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polypropylene polymer composition which contains phenol antioxidants and use of talc with an organometallic coating in polymer compositions. The polymer composition contains: (a) at least 50 wt % polypropylene; (b) 10000-400000 ppm coated talc; (c) 100-5000 ppm phenol antioxidants, and (d) optionally 100-5000 ppm phosphorus-containing antioxidants. The coated talc is used in the polypropylene composition to provide emission of volatile compounds from the product, measured according to VDA 277 standards, (a) all volatile compounds of the polymer composition in total amount of 120 mcg/g or less and/or (b) 2-methyl-propene of said polymer composition in amount of not more than 70 mcg/g.
