The invention relates to the formation of recommendations for at least one additional content item, such as television programs and/or songs.

The LEVEL of TECHNOLOGY

Well-known personal video recorders such as TiVo provides and digital video-based computer such as Windows Media Centre, developed by Microsoft. Each channel individualized content may be a topic that is easily recognized by the user, for example, a news channel, soccer channel, the channel of the TV series Friends or the movie channel. DISCLOSURE of INVENTIONS

The purpose of the method and device of the present invention is to provide a way to generate a recommendation for at least one additional content item, and this method is especially adapted for use with TV individualized content.

This is achieved in accordance with an aspect of the present invention, in which there is provided a method of forming a recommendation for at least one additional content item, the method comprises steps in which: use a filter with multiple criteria to ensure channel individualized content containing content items that satisfy the whole set of criteria; and generate a recommendation for at least one additional content item, and at least one additional content item satisfies a smaller variety of criteria. The content item may be, for example, a television program or song. The method can be performed, for example, by the service provider. The content item may be, for example, the recorded content item broadcast or content items that are available on demand. Filter with plural is om selection criteria can contain multiple filters. Thus, the recommendations are made for new content, i.e. content items that do not meet the selection criteria, but partially satisfy them. The IMPLEMENTATION of the INVENTION

Figure 1 is a schematic block diagram of the device according to the variant embodiment of the invention.
