FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves cigarettes samples collection. One determines the "whiff resistance" physical indicator with an open and an encapsulated cigarette using a common device. One calculates the smoking discomfort coefficient for every cigarette and the arithmetic mean value of the coefficient for the tested cigarette sample. One forecasts the "whiffing effort" indicator intensity degree by the value of the smoking discomfort coefficient. One performs sensory determination of the "whiffing effort" indicator intensity degree and allots marks in points. Then one performs comparison of the "whiffing effort" indicator intensity degree values, forecast and obtained by sensory determination, and comes to a final conclusion on the cigarettes quality.

EFFECT: method ensures enhancement of accuracy of sensory estimation of tested cigarettes samples; the method may be used for estimate and control of cigarettes quality in the process of new brands production and existing brands modification at tobacco industry enterprises as well as in the process of taste commission working.

The invention relates to the tobacco industry, in particular intended for determining the coefficient of unease Smoking cigarettes, and can be used in the work of the tasting commissions to assess the extent of efforts to secondhand smoke, and quality control of cigarettes when creating new brands and modifications to existing ones.

Sensory analysis is a psychophysical process, in which the measuring instrument serve only the human senses, and reflects a subjective assessment of the taster or smoker. Expression of total subjective evaluation, which allows to approach the objective sensory evaluation of cigarettes, is the opinion of the tasting fee, specially selected and trained. Previously, attempts were made to use the tasting Commission as a measurement tool in sensory evaluation of tobacco smoke test cigarettes. The known method of sensory evaluation of cigarettes in which the tobacco raw materials add the invert sugar and nicotine malate, after which the experimental cigarettes taste and investigate the stability and uniformity of the reaction tasters on supplements (Abdullah F.M. However, in the above methods influence the design features of cigarettes on consumer properties do not take into account.

Ventilated filter is one of the main instruments of regulation of tar and nicotine in the main stream tobacco smoke (consumed by the smoker), because it is diluted with air. As a result, with increase in the degree of ventilation of filter cigarettes, smokers take more force to inhale tobacco smoke. Thus, the smoker creates a certain discomfort that affects consumer properties of cigarettes.

Closest to the proposed technical solution is the method of determining the coefficient "comfort filter proposed by the firm "Schweitzer-mauduit piste International (France) (Materials of the Moscow seminar company "Schweitzer-mauduit piste International, April 2005) in accordance with the formula:

The disadvantage of this method is the impossibility of taking into account the influence of the physical parameters of cigarettes (length, diameter, p is h tobacco harness, the air permeability of cigarette paper and others) on qualitative indicators of tobacco smoke, which is not possible with a sufficient degree of accuracy to give a complete characterization of the degree of comfort of Smoking cigarettes.

The technical problem of the invention is the use to assess the extent of efforts to secondhand smoke, and quality control samples of cigarettes criterion unease area, reflecting the combination of physical and sensory properties of cigarettes.

The proposed method of assessing the degree of effort to secondhand smoke and the quality control of cigarettes is as follows.
