The invention relates to space technology. Device for protecting optical surfaces of a spacecraft includes a cover 10, a gear drive mounted in the pressurized cabin, and emphasis. The device operates as follows.

For opening the lid 10 and the sleeve 17 is released, freeing the latch 19. The rotation of the handle 30 together with a nut 28 provides movement of the output element 20, which pulls the input shaft 5 of the gear.
