Billets are subjected to equal-channel angular pressing at 400-470°C at the rate of 0.1-1.0 mm/s. Note here that nano- and sub microcrystalline structures are formed in the billet with grain size not over 0.5 mcm. Deformed billets are subjected to isothermal annealing at 450-550°C for 0.5-1.0 h. Then, the billet is subjected to upsetting or rotary forging at the temperature not higher than that of isothermal annealing.

The method involves gas-plasma sputtering of a wear-resistant layer by applying a mechanical mixture from a multicomponent self-fluxing powder alloy and powder tungsten carbide in the quantity of 38-43% of the multicomponent self-fluxing powder alloy, fusion of the coating surface is performed at the temperature of 1150-1180°C; after that, exposure of parts is performed in a thermal container after it is cooled down to the temperature of 500°C and two-stage heat treatment including hardening of parts from temperature of 830-860°C with cooling in industrial oil to the temperature of 650-720°C and exposure to the temperature of natural cooldown; after that, mechanical processing of the applied coating to the nominal size of the part is performed; with that, the multicomponent self-fluxing powder alloy contains silicone, iron, carbon, boron, chrome and nickel at the following component ratio (parts by weight): silicone 2.4-3.4, iron 3.0-7.0, carbon 0.3-0.6, boron 1.7-2.5, chrome 8.0-14.0, nickel is the rest.

First, the lower layer from titanium nitride is applied. Then, the upper layer from titanium compound nitride, niobium and molybdenum is applied with their content in wt %: titanium 84.5-90.0, niobium 6.0-10.0, molybdenum 4.0-5.5. Application of the layers is realised by three cathodes placed horizontally in one plane. The first cathode is made composite from titanium and niobium, the second is made from titanium and placed opposite the first one, and the third is produced composite from titanium and molybdenum and placed between them. The lower layer is applied with the application of the second cathode, and the upper layer - with the application of the first and third cathodes.

A graphite target is sputtered by the ion beam and carbon vapours are condensed on a substrate. Sputtering of a part of the ions by a grown layer is executed with grazing incidence of ions on the substrate surface. Recoil atoms create on the growth surface of the layer compressive stresses 10 GPa, sufficient for the formation of a diamond phase.
